The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS), is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law whose main mission is to improve in a sustainable and measurable manner the social situation of the Cameroonian population and to promote the health and prosperity of families. Thus, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its partners in the public and private sectors to offer high-quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For more than twenty-five years, ACMS has been providing the Cameroonian population with comprehensive and evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria and HIV prevention among others.

The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is seeking candidates (M IF) to fill the positions of Community Health Specialists based in Ngaoundere and Garoua respectively.
Who are we recruiting?
The Community Health Specialists will have the overall responsibility of supporting all health facilities and districts in the region to improve case identification at the community level and in other areas of the HIV program. He/she will lead initiatives to ensure that community activities aimed at optimizing case identification and linkage to treatment of all HIV positive people are implemented. They will work under the supervision of the Regional Program Coordinator with the following main responsibilities:

Essential functions:
Ensure the implementation of interventions at the community level,
Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the plan and in an integrated manner, Monitor the program’s community activities in the work plan on a weekly basis to inform on progress made,
Work in collaboration with other partners to ensure good coordination and effective programming and management of community health interventions;
Also serve as a link between community health workers, health districts, RTGs and ACMS;
Plan the implementation of activities in close collaboration with the technical specialists of the area concerned and the District Health Service Chief,
Support the development of technical documents and reports on community health;
Organize trainings on community health packages;
Ensure the development and implementation of an effective community-facility linkage system for all positive clients;
Participate in data analysis sessions integrated into the program and support the development of evidence-based care improvement plans; Support treatment preparation and adherence counseling interventions to improve early retention in treatment;
Ensure CHWs have up-to-date learning tools, job aids, and reporting tools;
Participate in organizing technical meetings, trainings, field visits, events, and other activities;
Participate in other programmatic and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Professional Experience Required
Hold at least a Master’s degree in Public Health and/or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
Have a minimum of Three (03) years of experience working or volunteering in a community setting;
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; Good knowledge of social or health services and outreach practices; Ability to work collaboratively, achieve cooperation and facilitate partnerships;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to deliver educational presentations to diverse groups; Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows software.
