General information​​​​​​​

    Made up of a group of Cameroonian shareholders, Africa Global Logistics, CMA CGM and CHEC, the Kribi Conteneurs Terminal consortium is the concessionaire of the container terminal of the deep-water port of Kribi. 
KCT offers the Cameroonian logistics chain a modern infrastructure, adapted to the new generation of transoceanic vessels, including 350-meter quays that can accommodate vessels with a capacity of up to 11,000 TEUs. The infrastructure and equipment comply with the highest international standards.
A true gateway to Cameroon and its hinterland countries, such as Chad and the Central African Republic, this new terminal is expected to facilitate the growth of regional trade and accelerate the country’s economic growth. Kribi Conteneurs Terminal also wishes to position itself as a transhipment hub.

Job Description

Mission Description 

– Establish and maintain the berthing plan to minimize vessel waiting time, and communicate this plan to stakeholders;
– Work closely with shipping lines, Harbour Master’s Office and shipping companies to manage berthing requests and unforeseen changes;
– Ensure optimal berthing positions, respect tidal and safety restrictions, and produce regular activity and performance reports;
– Ensure to plan the vessel in accordance with the stowage/PRESTOW provided by the line and cross-check the stowage of specials (OOG, IMDG, REEFER, IMDG separation, …), as well as stack weights;
– Efficiently allocate cranes to vessels and ensure that instructions are optimally distributed between cranes;
– Monitor the execution of vessel operations;
– In case of conflict or clash, take corrective measures;
– Ensure that unplanned or unperformed movements are communicated to the shipping line as well as cargo control;
– Ensure the transmission of ship documents (discharge list, crane works list, scan plan etc…) to the Ship Operation Coordinator before the arrival of the ship;
– Meet the ship upon arrival, finalize and provide all loading documents and work sequence, if necessary revise the load plan in accordance with the requirements of the chief officer and the shipping line;
– Ensure that all ships receive and stamp the final departure documents in a timely manner;
– Communicate and report any points of attention to the Planning Supervisor;
– Produce various activity and performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly and annual).

Profile 

– Have a higher education degree BAC + 4/5 in Logistics / Maritime / Statistics or Datascientist or any other equivalent specialty diploma;
– Cumulative experience of at least 2 to 3 years in a similar position;
– Cumulative professional experience (5 years);
– Good command of loading and unloading operations;
– Good command of warehousing operations;
– Very good command of ship operations;
– Excellent level of general knowledge and perfect ease with numbers;
– Strong capacity for analysis, anticipation and forecasting;
– Sense of results and internal/external customer satisfaction;
– Leadership and exemplary skills;
– Good listening skills and team spirit;
– Know how to communicate effectively and manage conflicts;
– Self-control and stress management;
– Ability to adapt and responsiveness;
– High sense of continuous improvement of organizations and development of tools and processes;
– Good sense of stepping back and risk taking;
– Demonstrate good integrity;
– Excellent command of the French language. The practice of the English language would be an asset;
– Mastery of IT tools (Office Pack) and information and communication technologies (internet, messaging, etc.)
