NOTICE OF CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF SEVENTEEN (17) CONSULTANTS COMMUNITY ANIMATORS FOR THE PASSR




Who are we?

The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS), a member of the PSI network, is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law, whose main mission is to improve in a sustainable and measurable way the social situation of the Cameroonian population and to promote the health and prosperity of families. Thus, CASI works in cooperation with the government and its public and private sector partners to deliver high-quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For over twenty-five years, ACMS has provided the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria, and HIV prevention among others.

The Programme d’Accès aux Services de la Santé de la Reproductive (PASSR) which recruits is a development project of the Republic of Cameroon co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through its development bank (KfW). CASI is responsible for the large-scale implementation of this Program.

Indeed, the PASSR implemented in four (04) regions of Cameroon (East, Adamawa, North and Far North) aims to increase the use of modern family planning methods including long-term methods of action.



Your Contribution:

  • Organize and conduct educational talks to women’s associations, men’s associations and youth associations on the following topics: benefits of family planning, family planning methods, prevention of STI/HIV/AIDS, and diarrhoeal diseases;
  • Organize and animate mass awareness campaigns;
  • Organize and conduct home visits to refer women to the network’s Health Centers;
  • Monitor interpersonal communication activities for behavior change of women’s associations, youth and health centers of the ProFam network;
  • The community facilitator is committed to acting as a liaison belt between the organization and traditional, religious, cultural and administrative authorities. In particular, it is responsible for obtaining the necessary permits for public events;
  • Organize the referral of women and young people to the Health Centers of the ProFam Network;
  • Mobilize women of childbearing age and youth around the project;
  • Organize demand creation activities within the Associations;
  • Support the organization of special events related to the project;
  • Supervise Community Health Workers:
  • Collect data in the field;
  • Submit monthly reports by the 25th of each month.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for Community Facilitators (M/F) who will embody the following CASI values:

The basics:

  • Hold at least a B.E.P.C. or GCE O LEVEL ;
  • Have one (01) year of professional experience in Community Mobilization;
  • In substitution of the required diploma: Have more than three (03) years of relevant professional experience in Community Mobilization;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Good ability to plan and anticipate potential and emerging obstacles;
  • Demonstrate adaptability, patience, ingenuity, resilience and flexibility;
  • Results-based management skills;
  • Be available to carry out regular field missions.




What would excite us?

  • Familiarity with social marketing and/or NGOs;
  • Fluency in French and/or English and have a sufficient command of the other language;
  • Good command of computer tools and software (Word, power point, Excel);
  • Passion for public health;
