The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is looking for candidates in the position of Youth and Adolescent Mobilization Specialists (M/F) to provide services in Ngaoundere and Garoua.
What do we recruit?
The Youth and Adolescent Mobilization Specialists will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of youth and adolescent engagement activities to ensure the delivery of youth-friendly health services. The specialists will work with health facilities, community-based organizations, and adolescent champions to support the recruitment and engagement of adolescents in health promotion, adherence to treatment, and empowerment initiatives. The role aims to create a conducive environment for adolescents, empowering them with essential HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health knowledge, and economic empowerment opportunities. They report to the Integrated Service Delivery Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with healthcare facilities to establish or reinforce youth-friendly health centers and clinics.
Ensure that these centers provide a safe, supportive, and accessible environment for youth and adolescents, addressing their unique health needs, particularly in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV prevention.
Oversee the identification and engagement of adolescent champions to serve as peer educators and advocates within the community and health facilities.
Train adolescent champions and coordinate their efforts to deliver peer-to-peer services, including adherence counseling and follow-up.
Plan and oversee recreational activities, such as picnics and holiday camps, for adolescents in care, to foster trust and build relationships with healthcare providers and peers.
Organize and facilitate periodic focus-group discussions or support groups for adolescents and young people at health facilities.
Develop a comprehensive package of prevention messages targeting adolescents and vulnerable groups, both in and out of school.
Collaborate with health facilities to implement the Operation Triple Zero Plus (OTZ Plus) service package for AGYW at risk of HIV.
Develop and distribute flyers and posters featuring HIV prevention and SRH messages tailored to adolescents, young boys, and girls. Ensure materials are accessible and distributed in schools, health centers, and community spaces frequented by young people.
Plan and deliver quarterly educational sessions focusing on health literacy, economic empowerment skills, and initiatives aimed at keeping girls in school.
Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Public Health, Social Sciences, Nursing, or other related fields (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with youth and adolescents in HIV prevention and SRH programs.
Strong understanding of the health and psychosocial challenges faced by adolescents, particularly related to HIV and SRH.
Demonstrated experience in community engagement, youth empowerment, and capacity-building initiatives.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
