50 DATA COLLECTORS RECRUITMENT NOTICE – Catholic Relief Services (CRS)

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is the official international humanitarian agency of the
Catholic community in the United States of America. CRS works to save, protect, and transform the lives of people in need in more than one hundred (100) countries, regardless of race, religion, or nationality. CRS’s relief and development work is accomplished through emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, education, microfinance, and peacebuilding programs. CRS has worked in Cameroon since 1960. Responding to the country’s strategic needs, early interventions focused on reducing child mortality and increasing food security. These projects have strengthened local capacity for health care and emergency response , including the Anglophone crisis in the Northwest and Southwest regions, the Lake Chad Basin crisis in the Far North, and the influx of refugees from the Central African Republic. In collaboration with local partners, CRS provides direct services and addresses structural barriers affecting populations living in vulnerable conditions. In preparation for future data collection activities, CRS Cameroon plans to replenish its POOL of Data Collectorss in the Far North Region.

Job Location: Far North Region, Cameroon
I- Responsibilities of the position:
The main responsibilities of the position are
: • Participate in training sessions;
• Collect quantitative and qualitative data during surveys organized by CRS;
• Transmit the data collected at the agreed frequency; • Participate in briefing and debriefing sessions; • Participate in data entry activities; • Secure work equipment during collection activities (tablets, phones, questionnaires, etc.); • Implement assigned tasks in strict compliance with the organization’s code of conduct, its principles and values; • Strictly observe safety instructions according to the recommendations issued. • And other tasks at the request of the applicant.

II- Expected qualifications: • Have at least a baccalaureate or any other equivalent diploma; • Fluent in French and/or English; • Fluent in at least one of the following local languages: Fulfulde, Mafa, Haussa, Kanuri, Mandara, and Arabic Choa, Chinene, Glavda; * Have at least 01 year of experience in collecting socio-economic survey data. * Good command of data collection tools on tablets/smartphones/Android through Commcare, Kobocollect, ODK collect, CTO Survey software, etc. * Good command of computer tools (Word, Excel, Internet) * Good knowledge of the far north region of Cameroon, particularly Mayo Tsanaga; * Have the ability to work under pressure and travel long distances in the field on a motorbike and on difficult roads; * Be available during the survey period; * Good communication and interpersonal skills; * Organizational skills and rigor; * Autonomy, flexibility, willingness, rigor and critical and team spirit; * Resident in the intervention areas of CRS projects in the Far North. * Be over 18 years old.

Qualification emphasized * Experience in data collection within national and international NGOs. * Knowledge of the Minawao camp; * Experience in the field of food security, livelihood, social cohesion, health, will be an asset.
