JOB SUMMARY
The Carer will provide basic care and support to patients under the
supervision of nurses or other medical staff in various

settings, such as camps, clinics, hospitals, or mobile units.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.
A. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming
, eating, and hygiene.
Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse,
temperature, CCMU, weight, and respiration.
Assist in medical procedures, such as wound care, dressing changes
, catheterization, immunizations, referrals, and specimen collection
Report any changes or concerns regarding
the patient’s condition or behavior to the nurse or supervisor.
Provide emotional and social support to patients and their families.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Follow infection control and safety protocols.
Participate in health education and promotion activities .
Order necessary medical and non-medical items from medical stock
under the supervision of the supervisor.
Maintain stock of medical and non-medical items.
Complete and maintain all medical forms/tools as directed.
Assist in cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and instruments under the
supervision of a supervisor.
Adapt to different and challenging work settings and conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed
herein are representative of the nature and volume of the work assigned and are not
necessarily exhaustive.
B. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a BEPC diploma or equivalent.
Have completed the state approved nursing assistant training program and
certification where applicable
Have a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
and first aid
Have a basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
Have a compassionate and respectful attitude towards patients and their needs
Have good communication and interpersonal skills Have flexibility and willingness to work in different
teams and environments Have cultural sensitivity and knowledge of humanitarian principles and values C. OTHER Security: Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies; Ethical Conduct of IMC Personnel: International Medical Corps maintains a code of standards of conduct that governs the performance of its employees engaged in the award and administration of contracts. No employee, officer or agent shall participate in the selection, award or administration of a contract funded by donor funds if there is a real or apparent conflict of interest. Such a conflict arises when the employee, officer or agent, a member of his or her immediate family, a partner or an organization
