The delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaoundé is looking for its services one (01) qualified candidate to strengthen the team of the <SANTE” department following the indications below:Position: An Orthopaedic Technician Rehabilitation
Assistant Position based in Yaoundé

Type of contract:
12-month fixed-term contract (offer reserved exclusively for Cameroon nationals)
Starting date: As soon as possible

DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTION
The Orthopaedic Technician Rehabilitation Assistant:

• Contributes and helps to establish the maintenance of the quality of the devices while aiming for maximum production;
• Guides and supervises orthopaedic technicians in centres supported by the Physical Rehabilitation Programme (PRP):
• Provides technical support to the technical managers of the centers supported by the PRP
• Participates in orthoprosthetic technical training in PRP-supported centres as needed;
• Analyses and evaluates the quality of services in PRP-supported centres:
• Ensures the collection and processing of statistical data in the centers supported by the PRP:
• Ensures partnership with local actors in Yaoundé and in the regions of the 4 Sub-delegations:
• Remains on the lookout for the development needs of new techniques in ortho prosthesis
• Participates in the ongoing adjustment/evaluation of the ERP project operational strategy
• Contributes to institutional and non-institutional analysis (annual report, etc.);
• Participates in PRP coordination meetings:
• Contributes to establishing a network of relevant interlocutors in functional rehabilitation in Cameroon (NGO, association, authorities, … etc.);
• Writes written reports on activities and collects relevant information on the quality of service provision in PRP-supported centers.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

• Master/Bachelor’s degree in orthopaedic technology. Qualified professional ISPO CAT II or equivalent. Other relevant degrees (e.g. pedorthist) are an asset;
• Minimum 4 years of experience in ortho prosthesis
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the management of an orthopaedic fitting workshop:
• Orthopaedic technician with technical and clinical skills, skills in the management of rehabilitation structures and skills in staff training
• Bilingual (French and English):
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Lotus Notes:
• Good ability to communicate, work independently, analyze and synthesize;
• Experience in an international organization will be an asset;
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
