NOTICE OF CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
/AAC/RN/DRSP/GT S-NO/CO of FOR THE
RECRUITMENT OF 04 PSYCHOSOCIAL ACCOMPANIERS (APS) IN THE NORTH REGION
1. CONTEXT
As part of improving the monitoring of people living with HIV in health facilities in the North region, the National AIDS Control Committee, with joint financial support from PEPFAR and the Global Fund to Fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, plans through the Regional Technical Group of the North, to recruit four (04) Psycho Social Supporters (APS) who will be positioned to work in care structures, in order to help patients living with HIV to take care of themselves and accompany them in the therapeutic circuit.
The APS will target all people who have tested HIV-positive for their initiation of treatment and compliance with said treatment, patient follow-up and retention in care. APS activities will be carried out on the basis of a monthly work plan duly approved by the head of UPEC or CTA.
II. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION OF APS
He will be recruited at the end of the selection process 03 APS
Global Care and 01 APS pediatric care at the Ngong
III District Hospital. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Interested candidates must meet the following conditions:
, Have had at least a Brevet d’Etude du Premier Cycle;
Be from or associated with a community-based group (eg dialogue structure, association, group, development committee, religious groups, support groups, association of people affected or infected by HIV/AIDS, etc.); Have a basic knowledge of HIV prevention;
Ability to read and write French and/or English;
To know how to speak one of the local languages of the region
To have a sense of organization, relations, dress and courtesy,
To be available to render service and to make oneself available for the follow-up of PLHIV;
Have good dispositions for teamwork and under pressure
Have professional experience in the field of health, social affairs in connection or not with psychosocial care,
Enjoy good morality and good professional integrity ; Having a diploma or certificate of training in the field of health is an asset.
IV. WORKBOOK FOR THE PSYCHOSOCIAL ACCOMPANIMENT
Placed under the authority of the head of the CTA or IUPEC and under the general supervision of the GTR coordinator, the APS promotes HIV screening, monitoring of PLHIV and therapeutic education of patients undergoing treatment. Through a set of activities, it contributes to making patients adhere to treatment and thereby improves their retention in care with the ultimate goal of lasting viral suppression.
The APS will have the following essential missions:

The promotion of HIV testing through awareness-raising and the offer of
Counseling and Voluntary Screening;
Pre and post test counselling,
psycho-social support for newly diagnosed PLHIV
The orientation [systematic referral of people newly diagnosed with HIV +1 from HIV testing sites to the nearest treatment centers,
The carrying out of IEC/BCC activities (CIP Community Meetings on the subject of body, food and clothing hygiene, prevention of HIV, promotion of knowledge of HIV serology status);
Animation of discussion groups;
Accompanying the patient in the therapeutic circuit in the CTA/UPEC;
The animation of educational talks (positive prevention; healthy lifestyle and positive life with HIV);
Follow-up and retention of patients in care.
V. COMPOSITION OF FILE
• A letter of motivation with precision from the Region and from the UPEC/CSI for which the candidate is applying;
• A letter of recommendation or proof of membership in a community-based group/Association;
• A detailed curriculum vitae stating the candidate’s qualification and professional experience, signed and dated;
• Certified copies of the candidate’s diplomas signed by the competent authority;
• A photocopy of the national identity card;
• An extract from the criminal record bulletin n03 dating from less than three (03) months;
• A medical certificate drawn up by a doctor practicing public health;
• Evidence of the candidate’s professional experience,
• Any document proving the candidate’s expertise in psychosocial support.
NB: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The main candidate selection procedures are as follows: Study of the application file, Interview.
VII. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
Each application file written in French or English must be submitted no later than January 20, 2023 at 3:30 p.m., local time, in an unidentifiable sealed envelope, in five (05) copies including one (01) original and four (04) copies, to the Regional Technical Group for the Fight against AIDS in the North.
