Health : As the pioneer department of the organization, the health department strives to ensure that communities adopt positive and health-seeking behaviors for improved quality of life. It also seeks to increase access to essential needs (medical, nutritional, and psychosocial support) for women, children, vulnerable persons, and remote communities.

 

 

 

Human Rights and Governance: The Human Rights and Governance Department’s key focus is on rights advocacy for women and children, peacebuilding and mediation, activism against gender-based violence using conflict-sensitive and survivor-centered approaches, protection, and the rule of law. It The department also emphasizes organizational capacity strengthening and support for local governance and regional and local authorities. Youth empowerment and engagement in civic responsibility while promoting positive masculinities and human rights monitoring

Wealth Creation: The Wealth Creation Department of Reach Out Cameroon has the main goal of improving household incomes of vulnerable women through the establishment of micro-projects, sustainable agriculture, and micro-credit operations so that beneficiaries are self-reliant in their communities. Generally, beneficiaries include school dropouts, single mothers, internally displaced women, persons living with HIV, and persons living with disabilities.

Job Purpose
Reach Out seeks a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to assist the Chief of Party in providing vision, leadership, and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity of an upcoming USAID-funded malaria project in Cameroon. This project will support the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) in implementing activities to reduce malaria morbidity and maternal and child mortality. The project will operate over a 5-year period.

The Deputy Chief of Party will assist and support the Chief of Party (COP) in the management of the project, oversee and provide technical expertise in project planning and implementation, and handle administrative and supervisory responsibilities as specified by the COP. The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP/O) will be responsible for the operations of the program, leading administration, compliance, and field office implementation.

 

 

 

 

This position is contingent upon an award from USAID. Cameroonian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support overall project leadership and strategy, work collaboratively with the COP to create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision, and oversee all operational, procurement, and financial management.
  • Represent the program at client and counterpart meetings and events, as needed.
  • supports and oversees work plan and budget development and implementation.
  • Efficiently implements, manages, and tracks compliance, timeliness of delivery, and financial considerations of subcontracts, grants under contract, and contract buy-ins
  • Implement tailored key management systems that support performance management, financial management, procurement systems, human resources management, project planning, and reporting.
  • Support the development of the scope of work and oversee the receipt of the required approvals for technical engagement with project subcontractors and short-term consultants.
  • Supervise staff and build systems for professional development.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the COP; serve as acting COP as needed.
