Reach Out NGO is a local, woman-led, not-for-profit organization headquartered in Buea, in the South-West region of Cameroon.
Our aim is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people using a community-centered approach. We have ongoing projects in Cameroon, in North-East Nigeria, and in the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reach Out operates through three main programmatic areas:
Health: As the pioneer department of the organization, the health department strives to ensure that communities adopt positive and health-seeking behaviors for improved quality of life. It also seeks to increase access to essential needs (medical, nutritional, and psychosocial support) for women, children, vulnerable persons, and remote communities.
Human Rights and Governance: The Human Rights and Governance Department’s key focus is on rights advocacy for women and children, peacebuilding and mediation, activism against gender-based violence using conflict-sensitive and survivor-centered approaches, protection, and the rule of law. It The department also emphasizes organizational capacity strengthening and support for local governance and regional and local authorities. Youth empowerment and engagement in civic responsibility while promoting positive masculinities and human rights monitoring
Wealth Creation: The Wealth Creation Department of Reach Out Cameroon has the main goal of improving household incomes of vulnerable women through the establishment of micro-projects, sustainable agriculture, and micro-credit operations so that beneficiaries are self-reliant in their communities. Generally, beneficiaries include school dropouts, single mothers, internally displaced women, persons living with HIV, and persons living with disabilities.

Overview of the position
Reach Out Cameroon is seeking an experienced fundraiser to join its team. The fundraiser will be expected
to use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities,
develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns and events. By
coordinating fundraising events and writing proposals, the fundraiser will hone his or her speaking,
writing, and leadership skills while moving Reach Out Cameroon closer to its financial goals.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, organized, and have a knack for research.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE
– Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work.
– Spot new fundraising opportunities.

– Plan fundraising activities to help the organization meet financial goals.
– Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop.
– Engage various donors, develop sustained relationships, and acquire funding for the
organization.
– Form strong relationships with external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
– Develop a fundraising plan for Reach Out and raise resources for the organization.
– Work with the Programs Director in prioritizing targets, identifying prospective funders,
and building and maintaining sustained relationships with funders/donors.
– Write grant applications and fundraising proposals.
– Ensure quality reporting to funders/donors.
– Manage the record-keeping and updating of the donor database.
– Ensure good funder/donor engagement, including sending information and presenting
project results in face-to-face meetings and also online.
– Monitor and evaluate donor relations, campaigns, and appeals.
– Liaise with relevant stakeholders, both internal and external.
– Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns.
– Lead and manage, as required, members of the partnership in developing multi-country
project proposals to acquire funding.
– Collaborate with the program team and other stakeholders to ensure proper project
management and delivery.
Required Skills and qualification
– At least 2 years’ experience in fundraising.
– Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
– A good attention to detail
– Passion for research.
– Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning
fundraising events.
– Good leadership and teamwork skills are essential.
Preferred Skills and qualification
– A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, project
management, or a related field

– Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising
– Knowledge of donor management systems
– Experience in writing grant proposals and fundraising letters.
– Confidence in public speaking.
– Interpersonal sensitivity and emotional intelligence skills.
– Knowledge of MS windows and MS office packages (Excel, word, PowerPoint)
– Accounting experience is a plus.
– Fluency in English, French, and Pidgin English (oral and written) is required.
