The Cameroonian Company of Maritime Operations (SOCOMAR) is looking for 01 Senior Accountant (m/f) for the needs of its services.

Duties of the position:

The accountant’s main mission is to observe, analyze and record any fact or information of an accounting or financial nature having an impact on the company’s assets in order to make a synthesis in order to make available to the various partners the company sound and timely accounting and financial information through the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, general ledger, DSF, income statement)

ACTIVITIES

Maintain general, technical and analytical accounting;
Optimize the tax management of the company;
Prepare financial statements;
Design and apply the chart of accounts of SOCOMAR SA;
Keep and save accounting documents under the conditions provided for by laws and regulations;

Check and monitor all operations of an accounting nature, related to the activities of all services, in liaison with the competent operational departments;
Seize and propose the tax opportunities offered by the legislation;
Limit litigation and tax adjustments;
Generate all accounting entries on SAGE;
Edit the accounting tables and annexes;
Validate and de-validate accounting documents on SAGE;
Delete technical parts;
Accounting for income and expenditure;
Establish budget reports
Supervise the monthly and quarterly closing of accounts
Conduct inventories, in liaison with the competent services
Performs any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE

KNOWLEDGE

Level of studies: MASTER in accounting and Management / Finances / Audit and management control
Experience required: at least 10 years in the field, and of which 05 minimum in positions of responsibility.
Knowledge of OHADA Accounting, Financial and Budget Management, Business Organization, Audit and Internal Control, Business Law, Taxation.
In-depth knowledge of the maritime sector and certifications obtained in accounting/taxation will be a major asset.
Be no more than 45 years old;
Ability to speak English and French
Very good command of EXCEL and other accounting software packages
