The National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (CENC) is the seat of the Catholic Church in Cameroon, where the promotion of human dignity is at the center of the concerns of the Sustainable Development Goals. The CENC works to ensure the dignity of the human being, the common good, the subsidiarity and the solidarity of all humans. The development work of the CENC in Cameroon is accomplished through access to quality education, health, the promotion of the commitment of the faithful to the reduction of inequalities and the empowerment of vulnerable groups.




 

TERMS OF REFERENCE
Summary of the Position
Under the direct supervision of the Logistics and Purchasing Manager of the Projects Unit, the Driver / Courier will be responsible for the transport of goods and people.
Roles and Responsibilities
     Carry out driving tasks, ensuring strict compliance with the highway code and speed limits;
 Collect and drop off mail, parcels and administrative errands.
     Transport personnel to various sites and regions;
 Follow up on project vehicle documents to ensure their validity (including insurance);
     Perform daily vehicle maintenance: Check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, fire extinguisher, etc. ,
     Report all technical malfunctions of the vehicle to the direct supervisor; Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of Project vehicles in approved garages. Keep a record of mileage in the logbook and record fuel consumption, oil changes, etc.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and experience
  BEPC / CAP / GCEO LEVEL minimum.
 At least Class E driver’s license.

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a driver/courier. Proficiency in defensive driving will be an asset.
Basic knowledge of automotive/mechanical/electrical repairs required.
Previous experience with an international NGO would be a plus.
Experience in an Institution of the Catholic Church would be an asset. Good knowledge of the roads of the different regions of Cameroon desired.
Personal ualities • Clean and Careful
Language (desirable)
  Knowledge of English or French. Bilingualism will be a plus.
Real trips. 60% travel to work areas in Cameroon.
