Recruitment Notice: VEHICLE FLEET MANAGER

Médecins Sans Frontières Switzerland is looking for a VEHICLE FLEET MANAGER for its mission in Cameroon who will have to develop and implement strategies to guarantee the adequacy of the means of managing the vehicle fleet and motorized equipment, both in the capital and in the field. . This role includes: the selection, start-up, use, maintenance and renewal to optimize the management of vehicles and the adequacy of motorized equipment, the management and supervision of teams of drivers, ensure the safety of passengers, equipment reliability, continuity of service, administrative monitoring and cost control.

 

 




Place of work: Yaoundé with travel on projects
Type of contract: CDD with possibility of renewal.
Line Manager: Logistics Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Logistics Coordinator, he/she has the specific responsibilities of:

Developing/reviewing the annual budget for the garage, vehicle costs, maintenance, fuel consumption and other consumables to prioritize operational needs and objectives.

 

 




Implement specific procedures to ensure and monitor that vehicles and other motorized equipment (generators, pumps, etc.) inventory, documentation and first aid kits are inspected monthly by the responsible driver; that the maintenance services (level A, B, or C) are carried out on time and well noted in the vehicle logbook; rationalize the use of fuel and other consumables.
Supervise, motivate and train all drivers and ensure they adhere to MSF rules of conduct and regulations, take care of their vehicles, prevent damage, perform routine maintenance, drive carefully and record all necessary information in the logbook.
Sort the existing documents on the vehicles and carry out an archiving/updating if necessary
Establish, in collaboration with the logistics coordinator and depending on the size and condition of the vehicle fleet, an annual order of spare parts; Identify potential local suppliers (for spare parts, fuel and lubricants) to provide efficient maintenance services for fleet and motorized equipment.
In collaboration with the supply manager, organize the storage of spare parts, both in the capital and in the field; organize the procurement processes in order to achieve a fast delivery time.
Provide support to project mechanics
Perform a consistency analysis of the sizing of the fleet of vehicles and generators on the mission

 

 

 

Skills required

Diploma in auto mechanics or general mechanics
Experience as a driver and/or mechanic required
Proven experience in managing a fleet of vehicles
Computer skills required
Experience with MSF or an NGO is an asset
Mastery of spoken and written French
Qualifications required

Staff management and development, Adherence to MSF principles, flexibility of behavior, results and sense of quality, teamwork and cooperation, ability to work with people from a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment, open-mindedness, good communication skills, listening skills.

A detailed and recent CV (2 pages Max);
A copy of the national identity card;
A copy of the diploma;
Any proof of professional experience
