ABOUT THE CENC
The National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (CENC) is the seat of the Catholic Church in Cameroon, where the promotion of human dignity is at the center of the concerns of the Sustainable Development Goals. The CENC works to ensure the dignity of the human being, the common good, the subsidiarity and the solidarity of all humans. The development work of the CENC in Cameroon is accomplished through access to quality education, health, the promotion of the commitment of the faithful to the reduction of inequalities and the empowerment of vulnerable groups.

 

 

SUMMARY OF THE CIVIL SERVICE FOR PEACE PROGRAM
AGlAMONDO’s Civil Service for Peace program, integrated into the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, supports partner organizations through personnel cooperation in their projects to promote peace in different regions of Cameroon.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Summary of the position
You work within the coordination team of the SCP/AGIAMONDO program in Cameroon integrated into the National Episcopal Conference. You are an active support of the national coordination for a systemic anchoring of security management in partner organizations (70%). You support the national coordination also in other general administration tasks

 

Roles and responsibilities
Analysis and monitoring of the security situation in the areas of intervention together with partner organizations, providing documentation and recommendations.
Strengthening the skills of partner organizations and cooperators in terms of security according to their needs.
Design and facilitate training for partner and cooperating organizations and common exchange on their role and the exercise of their responsibilities.
Support partner organizations and cooperators in drafting and updating their local security plans.
Support the coordination team in security management, updating the National Security Plan and preparing security for visitors. Creation and regular update of a list of contacts related to security at the national level, in collaboration with partner organizations.
Participate in external security meetings with stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, qualifications and experience
University degree (bac+3) in the field of political science, security management or any other relevant field.
At least two years of professional experience in organizing and conducting field visits independently.
Accurate and impartial understanding of the security context and expertise in providing relevant information in real time.
Driving license and driving experience are required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge of the principles of security management in fragile contexts and willingness to integrate the objectives, values ​​and principles of the SCP programme.
Experience as a trainer; ability to develop, implement, facilitate and transmit knowledge in order to improve skills.
Knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), web conferencing applications and information systems.
Abilities and good aptitude for oral and written communication in French and English in a diverse context.
Availability to travel regularly within the country.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and needs.
Excellent time management skills.
Integrate personal skills

Open to continuous improvement and innovative.
The potential candidate is dynamic, responsible and reliable and has the ability to adapt to changing program requirements.
Be determined and able to work under pressure, in a faith-based environment with a reliable ability to dialogue and work effectively in a team with senior managers of local and international institutions.
Required/desired language: Must be bilingual with a working knowledge of English and French.
Travel required: 30% travel within Cameroon.
