Summary

 

 

 

CPHDA is looking for local data collectors to support the baseline data collection of indicators for the Lake Chad Basin Conservation Project (Chad, Niger, Cameroon). It will be a question of collecting reliable information with a view to carrying out a basic study making it possible to identify the socio-economic and environmental issues representative of the reference situation of the sites targeted within the framework of the said project. The project seeks to improve the climate resilience of ecosystems (RCE) and marginalized communities (CM) structurally vulnerable to climate change (CC), particularly women and youth (F&J), through nature-based climate solutions ( SCFN) in six RAMSAR sites in the Lake Chad Basin.

 

 

 

 

Organization Information

The Center for the Promotion of Human Rights and Development in Africa (CPHDA) is a regional development organization specializing in the areas of education, health, food security, governance, peace and democracy… Present in Africa since 2011 and operating in several African countries, CPHDA has its regional office in Ivory Coast, Abidjan, Cocody Palmeraie.

 

CPHDA is in charge of the implementation of the “  Lake Chad Basin Conservation  ” project (Chad, Niger, Cameroon) as a subcontractor of Alinéa.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Data collectors will work under the supervision of the team leader and area supervisor. The task assigned to the data collector is to collect data at different levels, including:

v Enumerators will make visits to administer a predefined number of questionnaires over a given period. Which questionnaires should be distributed in accordance with the general guidelines provided by the team leader and the principles of the data collection training content. They must ensure a high level of quality, including rigor, consistency, respect for interviewees and confidentiality. They will have to enter and compile the data collected using standard entry templates and transmit the entered data daily.

v Data Transcribers will accurately transcribe and type audio recordings and perform any other duties as instructed by the Transcriber Coordinator.

v Qualitative study investigators will also be responsible for collecting information from key people such as local elected officials; Managers of structures and organizations dealing with environmental issues related to the Lake Chad Basin.

 

 

PROFILE

v Hold a Baccalaureate at least in one of the fields mentioned;

v Have experience in conducting semi-structured surveys, focus groups and individual interviews;

v Having a good knowledge of the processing and analysis of the data collected would be an asset;

v Ability to accurately transcribe and type audio recordings;

v Have the ability to work in a team independently and under pressure within short deadlines;

v Have excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit;

v   Have good written and oral communication skills;

v Have a good knowledge of the Microsoft office package (Word and Excel);

v Ability to enter and compile collected data using standard entry templates;

v Know how to produce collection reports;
