PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Providing nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’
prescriptions, protocols applied I service and universal hygiene standards/precautions,
in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.

MISSION AND MAIN ACTIVITIES
MAIN ACTIVITIES
1- Monitoring activities and setting objectives
Describes and analyzes activity in its environment (operating indicators,
evaluation of procedures, etc.), evaluates the quality of care at the hospital on a
quarterly basis, and ensures that this is also done at the CSI level.
Participates in the collection and analysis of medical activity data, and in the
drafting of the project’s medical report.

Participates in feedback to the team on medical activity data.
Participates in discussions on project management and the definition of
objectives.
2. Organization of HOSPITAL and Pediatrics activities (in collaboration ++ with the
MoH Pediatrics Major)
Organize and determine HOSPITAL and pediatric activities
Plan and implement departmental activities, taking into account identified needs,
to ensure continuity in the running of the department.
Coordinate the planning of children’s follow-up care, delegating tasks to nurses,
nutritional assistants and care assistants.
Support the Major MOH in drawing up the HÔPITAL/pediatric staff schedule,
ensuring that the planned staff are on duty and recruiting day workers to replace
those absent when necessary.
Help staff organize and plan their work
Know the tasks of HÔPITAL/pediatric staff, ensure that they are carried out
correctly, and help to carry them out if necessary.
Participate in health assessment and emergency response missions in the health
district.
3. Supervision and guidance of the hospital team (nurses, nutrition assistants,
orderlies, hygienists…)
Every morning on arrival and every evening before departure, carry out a
complete tour of the phases to ensure that everything is running smoothly.
Supervise the work of team members according to the tasks assigned to them,
and readjust if necessary.
Supervise admission and discharge consultations, and ensure compliance with
HOSPITAL/pediatric admission and discharge criteria, as well as transfers
between phases
Ensures that HÔPITAL/paediatric operations are explained to new employees,
and assists them with their tasks.
Monitor, raise awareness and train teams in hygiene measures, and ensure that
HÔPITALPED is properly cleaned.
4. Supervision of written and oral transmissions within and between teams
Ensures written transmissions of all specific events taking place during the working
day in the department (new admissions, transfers to CNAS, deaths) and makes sure
that teams make transmissions at handover times.
5. Check the availability and integrity of equipment provided to teams
Check the list provided by the pharmacy and ensure that it corresponds to existing
equipment.
Monitor the management of pharmacies in the various phases, their stocks of
medicines and equipment, and weekly input distributions.
Ensure that biomedical equipment is maintained in good working order.
Report any damaged or broken equipment to the pharmacy manager. Others

6. Organization and facilitation of ongoing staff training
Organize training sessions for paramedical staff (nurses, nutrition assistants,
orderlies and internal hygienists) in conjunction with all stakeholders (referring
physician, MOH physicians, Pediatrics Major, logistics team).

Plan and carry out assessments of the people under his/her responsibility
7. Supervision of health education for mothers
Supervise health education activities and check the relevance of messages
disseminated to mothers.
Help choose topics according to demand and needs
Evaluate understanding of messages conveyed
8. Supervision of HIV testing activities
Ensure that all HIV-positive patients are referred to the MOH for medical care and
follow-up during their stay at the hospital.
9. Supervise the correct application of the dietary protocol for children and
accompanying adults.
Monitor and check the quality and quantity of rations given to beneficiaries
Ensure compliance with dietary protocols and meal times
10. Patient support
Ensure that mothers and children are properly cared for and that their dignity is
strictly respected.
Facilitate exchanges and strengthen the welcome and information given to
families.
Ensure that all children admitted in Hospitals/Pediatrics are vaccinated before
discharge.
11. Compile weekly statistics for HOSPITAL /Pediatrics evaluation
Verifies that data collection is carried out daily (admissions, discharges, transfers
to CNAS, etc.) on the admissions/discharges register, by checking via the therapy
sheets, and drafts the weekly data collection.
Supervises the quality of data collection on registers and nutrition sheets.
Ensures the consistency of the figures collected and forwards them to the data
manager
Provides a detailed analysis of its activities and encodes the data in the
HOSPITAL/PEDIATRIC activity tracking file.
12. Collaboration with teams from other partners
Monitor children transferred from the CNAS or integrated health center to the
HOPITAL/Pediatrics or vice versa, in liaison with managers and partners working
in other health centers.

13. National staff health
Ensure that universal precautions for the prevention and control of infections are
implemented and observed by all staff members in the various workplaces
HOSPITAL/pediatrics
Refer all cases of blood exposure accidents to the referring physician or the
physician in charge of pediatrics.
Reassure the referring physician or the person in charge of pediatrics that all
ALIMA personnel are up to date with their mandatory vaccinations.
14. Rapid response to emergencies
Participate in health assessment missions in the district.
Provide emergency care within the established response mechanism.
15. Others
In all areas of his activity, he ensures that medical confidentiality is respected.
In all areas of his/her activity, he/she makes proposals for improvement or
adaptation.

Experienced nurse
Experience :
Bachelor degree in nursing, state registered nurse, HND/HPD in nursing)
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position
Experience in a medical humanitarian context
