Managing Director – Egis Cameroon

Context specific to the Business Line / Region
Responsible for the commercial development of Egis Cameroon and corporate officer, the managing director is the guarantor of the achievement of the strategic objectives and the performance of the company.
He is responsible for the general management of the company and works closely with the Africa Director, the country directors (Cameroon and others) and the regional support services (offer units, communication and marketing services, finance and accounting, human resources) as well as with the group’s business teams (3 business lines).
Description of the mission
- Participate in the development of high quality business strategies and ensure their alignment with short and long term objectives as well as regional objectives and commitments.
- Monitor the implementation at the local level of the regional activity plans defined by the group and the Africa department;
- Assess and plan for future market conditions and align strategy to take advantage of any changes or opportunities, industry trends and disruptive innovations.
- Lead by example in human resource management to achieve a motivated, disciplined and productive workforce. This includes effective leadership of staff, performance management through setting targets and conducting evaluation.
- Drive recruitment and retention strategies for key personnel to foster an environment that enables the company to attract and retain a talented and high performing workforce.

Financial performance
- Responsible for optimizing financial results in Cameroon assigned to him, including profit and loss, fixed assets, capital expenditures and receivables.
- Build P&L revenue and profit forecasts in accordance with prescribed guidelines and ensure effective teamwork to meet or exceed targets.
- Conduct business assessments and make pricing recommendations to the organization
- Make the collection of past debts a top priority and implement an effective collection system, procedures and actions to minimize overdue debts in a sustainable manner.
Acquisition of projects/business development
- In collaboration with the region’s CCO and local managers, develop a commercial action plan based on the regional strategy and market analysis, and actively contribute to its implementation.
- As part of the process of acquiring contracts and developing offers, identify customer needs, differentiators and the best partnerships:
- and develop the most effective corresponding offer strategy.
Lead the Offer Manager in implementing this strategy, including pricing. - Negotiate at high level with the client and partners until the signing of the contract.
Profile
- Experience in strategic planning, business development and contract acquisition, project execution and delivery within the transportation engineering and urban development industry sector.
- Proven skills in team management, people relations, team building and resource management.
- Previous experience of managing a team within a multicultural and multilingual community.
- Knowledge of the principles of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control, including generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Ability to prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Knowledge of contracts, negotiations and change management.
- Minimum level of experience required: 10 to 15 years
