JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Education Coordinator is to ensure, in accordance with the rules of the art, the implementation of the portfolio of Education projects for which he/she is responsible for the Far North of Cameroon. The activities below, without being exhaustive, are divided into general and specific responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:
Manages and supervises field project staff;
Adheres to and complies with NRC policies, guidelines and procedures;
Contributes to the development of the strategy, proposals and gives an opinion on the needs;
Manages and implements the portfolio of projects (activities, budget and project documentation) delegated by the supervisor in accordance with the proposals, strategies and requirements of the donors and ensuring optimal quality;
Reports regularly to the supervisor on the progress of projects by submitting written reports;
Specific responsibilities:
Ensure better visibility of project activities;
Ensures regularity in the preparation of reports;
Proposes orientations for the achievement of project results;
Strengthens collaboration between different stakeholders;
Builds the capacities of staff as needed;
Contributes in all phases of the development of project proposals to be submitted to donors;
Carry out needs assessment missions in the field in order to identify future sites and potential participants in the project, and establish vulnerability criteria if necessary;
Organizes training for project staff, but also builds the capacities of project participants;
Produces on time, statements of need, requisitions and other requests and justifications related to the smooth running of project activities;
Supervise activities in the field by ensuring the smooth running, compliance with reporting deadlines and the budget in collaboration with the supervisor;
Makes necessary and proactive proposals to the hierarchy to ensure that project objectives and results are achieved;
Establishes and follows the weekly and monthly work plans of his team;
Writes monthly and annual reports within the required deadlines;
QUALIFICATIONS
General Professional Skills:
Professional experience in project implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context;
BAC +3 Education, local development, social sciences or any other related field;
Knowledge of one’s leadership style/profile;
Bilingual candidate is an asset;
Context-specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Experience of at least three years in the field of education (education in emergency situations, accelerated education, child protection, etc.)
Experience with peasant communities;
Knowledge of local languages spoken in the Far North is a plus;
Knowledge of national and international norms and standards relating to education
Ability to understand issues related to cross-cutting themes such as gender, protection, HIV/AIDS, the environment.
Computer: MS Office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Understanding of the cultures and habits of the Far North or work experience in the North and Far North areas

Status of the position: Local position open to candidates of Cameroonian nationality
Duration of the contract: CDD of 12 months renewable according to the availability of funding and based in Maroua with 50% travel in the field;
Competitive salary and benefits: Grade 7 on the NRC Cameroon scale and 90% medical insurance;
