COUNTRY PROGRAM BACKGROUND:

International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Its mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide. By offering training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and with the flexibility to respond rapidly to emergency situations, International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance.

 




 

International Medical Corps has been present in Cameroon since 2008 to provide assistance to thousands of CAR refugees who have crossed the bordered sheltered in Cameroon as a consequence of the political and social troubles which occurred in CAR since 2005. International Medical Corps is providing essential health and nutrition care to more than 75 000 Nigerian Refugees in the Minawao refugee Camp in the Far North Region according to last data from HCR and its parteners .

Missions and Responsibilities

Main objective

 

 

In close collaboration with the Project team, The Warehouse Assistant under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer is responsible of the management of all the items in warehouse, Check the compliance of documentation of warehouse, receives all the goods in quality and quantity which have to be stored. In accordance with his supervisor, monitor goods leave the warehouse.

Responsibilities

Specific tasks:

• Engage the community in all interventions,

• Ensure that all home visits and case documentation are recorded in the appropriate files or tools for case management and maintain orderly, transparent filing and accessible to management

• Manage and assist cases of GBV survivors in the intervention area, particularly responsible of Psycho-social cases.

• Provide comprehensive psychosocial counseling to GBV survivors focused on the survivor centered case management approach.

 

 

 

• Provide assessment and counseling both at individual and group level as the situation demands.

• Document beneficiaries’ data accurately using all GBV standard forms and ensure that they are kept in appropriate places that only authorized persons can access.

• Maintain and strengthen existing networks with other service providers, to ensure that GBV survivors receive qualitative services and support.

• Attend training forums relevant to the job.

• Responsible of referring beneficiaries to the concerned service provider by using referral pathway and referral inter-agency form.

• Raising the awareness of GBV survivors through conducting awareness sessions about how victims of GBV are impacted by the traditional cultural practices and always prepare a topic for her/his session and inform her/his manager before conducting.

• Don’t share any information of GBV survivors with other service providers or any other people without the permission of her supervisor and keep the confidentiality of the case.

• Provide support technical support to local and community organizations to prevent and respond to GBV under the lead of MINPROFF & MINAS in his locality.

• Build capacity of the community-based structures dedicated to community approach through coaching session,

• Ensure the regular collection of all identified data and recorded in the program data base in collaboration with the Supervisor and MEAL team

• Sending all of the required documents on time to his/her Supervisor.

• Support the program team when needed as well the Project Supervisor and Manager for any necessary support to the proper conduct of the activities including community activities, trainings and international events:

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Ensure accurate data collection of field activities by Community based protection committees, CBO’s, CPFFs community listening centers, CMPJ, CSOs, LPC, WGSS and women association identified

• Compile data and submit weekly narrative and statistics reports to the Protection Supervisor;

• Maintains flexibility to perform other tasks when requested by the Protection Supervisor.

Procurement:

• Work in close collaboration with the Protection Supervisor to prepare Procurement Requisition;

• Work closely with Protection Supervisor, community-based protection committees and Logistic in identifying adequate supplies, materials and equipment needed to implement activities;

• Ensure the distribution of material and equipment to the beneficiaries on the field by respecting the IMC code of conduct.

Representation and coordination:

• With the support of Protection Supervisor, promotes and manages positive relationships with local administrative authorities, other partners, service providers and the beneficiaries

Education, experience and skills

Education:

 University level (Bac +3) Sociology, Gender, Public Health, International Development or other relevant field of study, or equivalent experience

Experience

 Two years of experience in GBV program design and implementation especially with refugees.

• Relevant experience in the area is strongly preferred

• Familiarity with standards and guidelines for GBV programming as well as guidance on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA)

• Familiarity with international humanitarian operations

Skills

• Good knowledge of transversal protection

• Good knowledge in the field of participatory development approaches

• Good knowledge of plant and animal production

• Skills / Attitudes:

O Great capacity for human contact, diplomacy, self-control, interest in cultural differences, availability, flexibility, ability and motivation to work in a team, ability to manage stress and to live in an isolated context, diligence, tenacity, determination, integrity, adaptability, sense of initiative, ease of communication, sense of responsibility, respect for the framework and teamwork.

• Proficiency in the local language,
