SUMMARY PRESENTATION OF THE STRUCTURE
SWAA is a Pan-African NGO created in 1988 during the World
AIDS Conference in Stockholm. The goal was to set up a forum where
African women would take collective action in the fight against AIDS, taking into
account our respective socio-cultural contexts.

 




 

This dynamic, initiated at the end of the Stockholm conference and the
creation of the NGO SWAA, gave rise to the birth of SWAA Cameroon in
1990, and SWAA Littoral in 1991.
Initially located within the Laquintinie hospital in Douala, where she
mainly developed prevention activities, SWAA Littoral was
transferred in 2002 to its new comprehensive care center for
people living with HIV called “Centre SON-NINKA” located at rue
Foch in the Akwa district of Douala, and financed by SIDACTION.
Since June 2019, SWAA Littoral, thanks to the generosity of many donors
, has moved into its new premises, located in the Mbanga-Bakoko district, in
the Douala 3rd district, and continues to invest in community projects
to combat against HIV/AIDS.
As part of the implementation of its various programs, SWAA Littoral
is recruiting one (01) Accountant.

 

 

 

NATURE OF CONTRACTS
Accountant (M/F)
The Accountant will be hired under a fixed-term employment contract
which will be backed by the projects ensuring his/her remuneration.
JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
 Elaboration of the annual budgets by project
 Elaboration of the overall consolidated annual budget  Elaboration and information of the project
consumption monitoring file  Record and keep records for all daily operations;  Monitor the financial and accounting operations of the various projects;  Reconcile daily, monthly and annual transactions;  Perform periodic financial analyzes to detect and resolve problems;

 

 

 Ensure the updating of all accounting documents;
 Process and enter all accounting data into the
accounting software;
 Review and analyze supporting documents for
financial transactions to ensure that all required documents are accurate and
complete;
 Classify and keep chronologically all
accounting documents;
 Review various accounts to detect irregularities;
 Report to the hierarchy any anomaly or discrepancy observed in relation to
the application of the procedures in force;
 Prepare various financial reports, periodic and ad hoc, as required
, and perform variance analyzes to facilitate decision-making
decision and appropriate management of financial resources;
 Monitor inventory management and supply of
project products;
 Ensure all banking operations, including the preparation
of checks, transfers, etc.
 Ensure good collaboration with banking institutions and
suppliers;
 Manage payroll;
 Execute assigned treasury tasks (cash payment/receipt
, cash forecasting, etc.), insofar as
segregation of duties is ensured;
 Prepare the accounting documents at the end of the year (Balance,
Financial statements, Balance sheet, General ledger, Table of jobs-resources);
 Assist in the administrative orientation of staff;
 Follow and use the policies and procedures in the
Procedures Manual;
 Organize accounting and financial audits, including the preparation
of the necessary documents, carried out by donors or an
External Audit and Management Firm;
 Develop monitoring documents for the various partnerships (
estimated budget, reports and financial monitoring, etc.);
 Respect the internal rules of SWAA Littoral, as well as the
various procedure manuals in force;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
 Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial management;
 At least two years of experience in functions related to accounting
, financial and accounting management, treasury, preferably
with a local NGO or a financial /
banking institution;
 A good knowledge of the mechanisms and procedures for managing
development projects, knowledge of the procedures for
disbursing funds from funding sources is
essential;
 A good knowledge of the use of accounting software, spreadsheets
and word processors under Windows (Excel, Word, SAARI,
Tom2pro…);
Personal qualities
 Excellent analytical skills and ability to detect and report inconsistencies
;
 Excellent organizational skills with great attention to
detail;  Ethics in accordance with recognized
