 MAIN MISSION:

Under the supervision of the CFO (Chief Financial Officer), the Chief Accountant will guarantee the reliability of the company’s accounts and their monitoring, will be responsible for the production the company’s accounting statements, the proper application of accounting and tax standards, the management of the accounting department, the analysis of the company’s financial and accounting situation, in conjunction with the financial department and/or the management control.

ATTRIBUTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implementation of accounting and control procedures

– Implementing the company’s accounting procedures;

– Ensure, where appropriate, their integration into the company’s management information system;

– Study and develop accounting procedures in order to guarantee the correct processing of all transactions;

– Collaborate with management control to analyze and optimize these procedures.

 

 

Taxation

– Ensure the strict application of the provisions of the company agreement

– Analyze the contractual provisions in force relating to tax relief and initiate the appropriate actions to enable them to benefit from them.

– Harmonize the tax base due

– Guide and coordinate relations with the tax administration.

– Maintain constant contact with the tax administration.

– Update the points impacting the company’s activity following changes in tax legislation.

– Develop the budget forecast of tax charges.

 

 

Closing of accounts

– Organize with management control the schedules for the monthly or quarterly closing of the accounts, bases for reporting the company’s activity;

– Review closing estimates and corrections;

– Prepare end of period financial reports

– Monitor and manage relations with the statutory auditor(s): define the schedules for auditing the accounts; justify to the auditors the inventory entries and the main restatements of the closing of the accounts.

Analysis and information

– Validate the closing of the accounts: Control and verify their preparation within the legal deadlines;

– Ensure the link with the finance / management control manager and the treasury department for the monitoring of banking relations: securing financial flows, computerized data exchange, guarantee of the accounting of bank entries, … Management, organization and

supervision

– Determine and implement the structure of the accounting organization;

– Define the calendars of the legal and financial deadlines to be respected;

– Recruit employees, follow their potential in order to optimize their progression, their involvement and their behavior in the team.

JOB PROFILE Education

    and Experience:

· BAC+5 in finance and accounting (DECF (Diploma of Accounting and Financial Studies), business school, with DECF, DESCF (Diploma of Higher Accounting and Financial Studies); · Have

a Minimum of 10 years of experience including 5 years in a similar position.

· Have at least three (3) years of experience in tax practice in a company or in a tax consulting firm.

· Mastery of SYSCOHADA and good reporting practices according to IFRS standards

· Very good knowledge of Cameroonian tax legislation

· Experience in a firm would be an asset;

· Have a perfect mastery of the Microsoft Office package in general and MS Excel in particular (advanced Excel)

    Know-how

· Know how to develop accounting procedures;

· Know how to organize the closing of accounts;

· Mastery of current taxation and accounting;

· Know how to organize and monitor relations with the auditors;

· Know how to establish relationships, work procedures and secure data exchanges with financial institutions;

· Prepare the analysis tables of the results accounts of targets and budgets;

· Demonstrate rigor in respecting accounting procedures;

· Be organized and methodical;

· Ability to manage and lead teams;

· Qualities of discretion on all strategic and financial information;

· Demonstrated experience and mastery of an accounting software package;

· Have excellent knowledge of taxation.

Skills:

· Confidentiality and respect for professional secrecy;

· Relational ease with internal departments to seek information and provide explanations; and externally with suppliers and customers to exchange information, follow up on settlements, provide explanations With partner companies to exchange information and provide explanations;

· Capacity for analysis and synthesis;

· Have an ability to work under stress and be multi-tasking;

· Rigorous, organized and results oriented.
