International Medical Corps Cameroun is seeking the services of qualified, experienced and highly motivated candidates for the following position.

Nutrition Manager (based in Northwest Region)

  • Coordinate the implementation of Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) programs, including simplified approaches (the combined protocol, Family MUAC), as well as nutrition assessments carried out by IMC Cameroon.
  • Coordinate nutrition programs and ensure that it adhere to relevant national and global guidelines and are in line with the priorities set by the Nutrition Cluster and are consistent with established best practices
  • In collaboration with other staff and the IMC’s M&E and supply chain Teams, improve the quality of the IMC’s nutrition programs by establishing an effective and efficient oversight, support, quality assurance mechanisms and checks, reporting systems and processes, and supply management.




 

  • Train both MOH staff and IMC staff on CMAM and IYCF programs in the NW.
  • In collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and other partners, pilot Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW), Integrated Child Survival Program in the NW.
  • Provided technical support and supplies to sites implementing MNCHW to reach at least 85% of target groups
  • Contribute to preparation of situation analysis by compiling data, analyzing and evaluating information, of sectorial documents for Country Program Documents (CPD), Country and Program Plans of Action (CPAP) and other program documents as required
  • Analyze and evaluate data to ensure achievement of objectives and take corrective action when necessary to meet program objectives and results, thus contributing to development and introduction of new approaches, methods and practices in project management and evaluation
  • Collaborate with communication for development section in development of appropriate communication strategy for nutrition interventions including IYCF and MNDC
  • Represent IMC during meetings with local and international stakeholders including Regional nutrition clusters.
  • Identify, Develop, Budget implement activities according funders and IMC policies

 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Hold at least a BSc in nutrition, Dietetics, or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma nutrition or dietetics.
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in the same position(years post-qualification nutrition professional experience).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and local language, (Pidgin English will be a plus)
  • Good ability to work in a multiethnic environment;
  • Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a prerequisite.
  • Experience working in a nutrition program preferably within a humanitarian context.
  • Able to develop good relationships with colleagues, beneficiaries, agencies, etc. Good communicator.
  • NGO experience in the field of Nutrition will be an advantage
  • Ability and willingness to manage project implementation. Excellent organisational skills.
  • Able to prioritise clearly. Able to enforce procedures. Able to set clear objectives and delegate. Team-player with good inter-personal skills. Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner.

  • Code of Conduct:

As applicable to this position, an individual must promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization and maintain a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.

If this is a supervisory position, one must set an example of ethical behavior through one’s own conduct and oversight of the work of others; ensure that those who report to you have sufficient knowledge and resources to follow the standards outlined in the Code of Conduct & Ethics; monitor compliance of the people you supervise; enforce the Code of Conduct & Ethics and International Medical Corps’ policies, including the Safeguarding Policy and the Protection from Harassment, Bullying and Sexual Misconduct in the Workplace Policy, consistently and fairly; support employees who in good faith raise questions or concerns.
