For our National Program Office in Cameroon, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Logistician Intern to help the Jengi TRIDOM Program meet its needs.

Duration : One (1) year
Mission of the department
The mission of WWF CCPO is to ensure the sustainable management of natural resources in the South-East of Cameroon through participatory management practices involving all stakeholders and contributes to improving the living conditions of local populations. This includes (1) the negotiation of a macro-zoning plan (with protected area, forestry and hunting concessions, agroforestry zone, etc.), (2) the development of basic infrastructure and the preparation of plans management plan for three protected areas (Lobeke, Boumba Bek and Nki) which cover 6,380 km2 of dense moist evergreen and semi-deciduous forest of biological importance, with high densities of elephants, western lowland gorillas, chimpanzees and bongos, (3) support to concessionaires in the implementation of sustainable practices, and (4) assistance in the establishment of community organizations to ensure the full participation of the local population in the management of natural resources and the contribution of these resources to poverty reduction. In order to help the Jengi TRIDOM program to fill this need, we are looking for a Logistician Intern.
Main duties
Under the direct supervision of the Program Administrator , the incumbent will monitor the logistical aspects of the program and provide general logistical support.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Facilitate staff travel by preparing travel documents in a timely manner based on approved schedules;
- Facilitate travel reservations by liaising with travel agencies where applicable;
- Facilitate hotel reservations for WWF staff and consultants as needed by supervisors;
- Facilitate purchasing and ensure we get the best deals in terms of quality and price from trusted suppliers;
- Assist the ” Program Administrator” with administrative tasks, analysis of fuel consumption, review of stock cards for consumables, review of fuel and consumables replenishment report, as required;
- Provide support for organizing meeting logistics;
- Regularly update the inventory of Jengi TRIDOM program assets;
- Help ensure a safe and secure working environment (offices and facilities);
- Assist in ensuring the provision of services (this includes tracking generator operating hours as well as fuel consumption, lubricants, and other maintenance, etc.);
- Help ensure vehicles are managed in accordance with WWF standards (Vehicle Management Procedures);
- Assist with purchasing, receiving, shipping, storage and all related administrative aspects;
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Profile
Required Qualifications
- A first degree in administration, management, logistics and transport and/or a professional certificate is required;
- At least one year of progressive professional experience in administration/logistics, preferably in an international NGO .
Required skills and competencies:
- Mastery of travel and hotel reservations;
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with attention to detail;
- Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative and work independently;
- Excellent team spirit and good networking and interpersonal skills;
- Results-oriented, able to provide quality service within set deadlines;
- Trustworthy: establishes a relationship of trust with employees by being open-minded, respecting commitments and preserving confidentiality;
- Excellent oral and written communication.
