Child Protection Project Manager (local position). Source International Medical Corps

Essential Job Duties

  • Coordinate overall project activities, including safe listening and learning spaces, case management, youth empowerment program and psychosocial support, and ensure accuracy of quality control in monitoring cases and references;
  • Establish and consolidate referral networks for case management through effective collaboration with child protection partners operating in the relevant area;
  • Support CP staff in organizing weekly case management meetings as well as awareness meetings and facilitate integration at the field level;
  • Support the overall organization of all training internally for the CP team and externally for volunteers/community;
  • Provide supervision and monitoring of the Child Protection project by ensuring compliance of program activities in accordance with international and national standards and best practices, as well as grant requirements;
  • Develop a technically sound program work plan and activities consistent with program goals and objectives in coordination with the Program Manager;
  • Coordinate and supervise training on CP concepts, guiding principles, case management and referral pathway for partners, community members and service providers;
  • Follow the process of producing birth certificates;
  • Provide ongoing leadership to CP supervisors and oversee the implementation and coordination of activities, to ensure objectives are achieved.

 




 

Supply

  • Work closely with the program manager to prepare the procurement plan;
  • Provide clear instructions to logistics to purchase good quality materials for program activities;
  • Ensure the proper management of goods purchased for the project, including supporting inventory and ensuring compliance with IMC guidelines on supply stock management in synergy with the logistics department;
  • Submit PRs on time to facilitate timely acquisition of goods;
  • Track items to be acquired for the program and request the necessary support to ensure items are purchased on time.

Human ressources

  • In synergy with the administrative team, assist the program coordinator in the hiring of human resources directly linked to the program as well as ensure staff evaluation and other aspects of human resources management;
  • Work closely with the human resources department to ensure adequate follow-up on all human resources-related issues;
  • Supervise the CP program supervisors in their region;

Information, reporting and data collection;

  • Ensures appropriate collection and verification of data provided by CP supervisors on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, in accordance with established program deadlines;
  • Assists the Program Coordinator in preparing donor reports based on donor requirements and specific program results.

 

 

Required Profile :

  • Hold a Master II either in Social Sciences, in psychology, in Mental Health, in educational sciences, in human law and humanitarian law and or any other equivalent diploma;
  • Have strong experience in the development and/or implementation of emergency services in community services and be able to provide the necessary support to people with specific needs.
  • Demonstrate strong experience in management, project monitoring and evaluation
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of the requirements of international donors such as those of the United Nations Agencies;
  • Demonstrate good theoretical and practical knowledge of child protection systems and women who have suffered gender-based violence and their strengthening;
  • Have strong professional experience of at least five years, including at least three in a similar position, and demonstrate good knowledge of project cycle management (experience in an international organization is an asset);
  • Master office software (Microsoft Office) and be perfectly bilingual (English French)

 

 

Be of Cameroonian nationality and be over 45 years old

  • Security :

– Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies;

– Consider the safety implications of all program activities, reviewing all new initiatives with other staff, leaders and community volunteers.

  • Ethical conduct of IMC staff :

International Medical Corps maintains a code of standards of conduct that governs the performance of its employees engaged in the awarding and administration of contracts. No employee, officer or agent shall participate in the selection, award or administration of a contract funded by donor funds if there is a real or apparent conflict of interest. Such a conflict arises when the employee, officer or agent, a member of his or her immediate family, a partner or an organization that employs or is about to employ one of the parties listed above, has a financial or other interest in the company selected for the award. Managers, employees or agents of IMC must not solicit or accept gratuities, favors or anything else of monetary value from contractors or parties to sub-agreements. These standards provide for disciplinary measures for violations of these standards by officers, employees or agents of IMC.
