For our office in Mambele, we are looking for a Logistics Intern to support the WWF/Jengi-TNS Programme.

Duration

One (01) year

Mission of the Department:

WWF has maintained an effective presence in the area since 1995, when it created the Jengi South East Forest Programme. The Program subsequently evolved into the current Jengi Tri-National de la Sangha (TNS) Program which supports the LNP and its peripheral zone in wildlife conservation, contributing to the well-being of local people and the sustainable management of natural resources through a landscape approach in partnership with the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, the Foundation for the Tri-National de la Sangha (FTNS).

FTNS supports the PNL and its peripheral zone through the following annual work programs:

Program 1: Administration and infrastructure development;

Program 2: Protection;

 

 

Program 3: Participatory management and sustainable development;

Program 4: Research, ecological and socio-economic monitoring;

Program 5: Transboundary cooperation.

Major functions:

The Logistics Intern will contribute, under the supervision of the Logistics Assistant, to the implementation of Program 1, and support the achievement of the overall mission of the Jengi-TNS Program as required. In line with WWF Cameroon’s vision of a future with healthy ecosystems and flourishing biodiversity supporting people and sustainable development in Cameroon, the mission of the Jengi-TNS Program is to halt the decline of biodiversity, reverse the negative trend and contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of local communities and indigenous peoples (Baka) .

Major duties:

  • Contribute to the delivery of all program results 1;
  • Collect goods from vendor’s places;
  • Support the Logistics Assistant in purchasing goods and services making sure that the right details are provided to the service providers;
  • Collect proformas and invoices, according to the needs of the office;
  • Assist the logistics Assistant with administrative tasks, fuel consumption analysis, review of stock cards for consumables, review of replenishment report of fuel and consumables as assigned;
  • Collect information on vehicle usage, to prepare cost recovery on different projects;
  • At the request of the Logistics Assistant, liaise with suppliers;
  • Ensure that requisitions for services or material are duly approved before processing;
  • Draw up purchase orders in the system, in line with the needs of the requestors;
  • Prepare official/private vehicle usage bills;
  • Ensure data entry into the system to generate statistics;
  • Prepare monthly statistical reports on office vehicles;
  • Assist in the filing of travel documents for staff according to the project;
  • Assist in Organizing logistics for meetings (focal point for venue bookings, etc…) and workshops;
  • Liaise with users/customers in order to organize reception of goods;
  • Assist in the monitoring of all processing logistics matters with the relevant interlocutors to ensure proper operation of the Cameroon Country Office (CCO);
  • Assists with hotel reservations for WWF staff and consultants as requested by supervisors;
  • Collect relevant data for socio-economic monitoring;
  • Contribute to ensuring program compliance with technical and financial reporting and monitoring/evaluation requirements;
  • Perform any other tasks, as assigned by the CDO, in relation to the communities and in accordance with WWF policies.

Profile:

     Required Qualifications

  • 2 / 3 years’ undergraduate level in Logistics.
  • At least one year of progressive professional experience in Logistics (in an international NGO).

     Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency on travel and hotel reservations;
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization competence with attention to details;
  • Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative and work independently;
  • Excellent team player with good networking and interpersonal skills;
  • Results oriented, delivers quality service and in a timely manner;
  • Trustworthy: establishes a relationship of trust with employees through openness, adherence to commitments and maintain confidentiality;
  • Excellent computer software mastery especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely in French and English;
  • Adhere to WWF’s values: Collaboration, Courage, Respect and integrity.
