DOCTORS SANS FRONTIERES – MSF is a non-governmental humanitarian organization, created in France in 1971, under the status of a non-profit association. The Swiss section was created in 1981. Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1999, MSF aims to provide humanitarian medical aid to any affected population without distinction of ethnicity, gender, religion, philosophy or political opinion.

Médecins Sans Frontières Switzerland is looking for a base logistician for its emergency project in Kousseri.

Type of contract: Fixed-term contract of 1.5 months

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Carry out or supervise all logistical activities relating to maintenance on base (vehicles, fuel consumption, local infrastructure) in accordance with MSF protocols in order to keep equipment, infrastructure and vehicles in optimal operating conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan vehicle movements, monitor individual trips and ensure security measures are implemented.
Monitor consumption of supplies, fuels and lubricants in different facilities (office, home, store, etc.).
Check whether household waste is disposed of correctly. Check the maintenance of the different spaces (gardens, courtyards).

Check and ensure the maintenance of MSF premises and installations, as well as the water supply, electricity, walls, ceilings, and check safety conditions. In this context, carry out inspection visits in order to estimate the rehabilitation needs of the installations.
Perform maintenance of logistics equipment for cold chain, power generation, IT and radio communications, and in particular: Inventories and reassignment of equipment Renewal of authorizations for use of
radio equipment with local authorities
Check the quality of the work carried out on generators and electrical installations
Prepare orders for your area of ​​activity, follow up, check receipt of work and status. Perform local purchasing and ensure line manager is aware of any issues related to the quality or availability of items to be purchased.
At the request of the supervisor, participate in training.

Education Selection Criteria
    .    Essential High School
Experience. At least 1 year’s experience with MSF or other NGOs desirable
Languages. Basic language of the mission essential, local language desirable Knowledge. Computer skills and knowledge as a user of radio equipment
