Social Cohesion, which include transversal axes such as Climate Justice,
Gender Justice and Advocacy for respect for Fundamental Rights.
The Lutheran World Federation has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It has been
present in Cameroon since 2014 and operates mainly in the areas of
livelihoods (Livelihoods), Education, Peace and social cohesion,
Environment / Energy and, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH); in four
regions namely: the East, Adamaoua, the North and the Far North with a representative office
in Yaoundé in the Center region.

 

 

As part of the new “Nature-Based Solutions – NBS” project with
technical support from “Canadian Lutheran World Relief” (CLWR) and financial support from
“Global Affairs Canada” (GAC), the FLM is recruiting:
Title of the position: Two (02) Peace and Social Cohesion & Gender Officers.
Reporting to: Zone Coordinator
Place of assignment: Department of Logone and Chari
Duration of contract: One year renewable depending on performance with 3 months of
trial period.
Main objective of the position:
The Peace and Social Cohesion & Gender officer provides support to the Zone Coordinator
for the proper implementation of LWF projects in Cameroon. He/she is
responsible for coordinating the work of field monitors, particularly with regard to
the peace and social cohesion & gender component.
Specific responsibilities of the position:
➢ Learn about developments in the region where the project is implemented
, and ensure that activities are carried out according to the context and
meet the needs in peace and social cohesion & Gender.
➢ Coordinate the work of field monitors during the implementation of
peace, social cohesion and gender activities. ➢ Organize and facilitate training for field monitors and other
staff members.

 

 

➢ Assist in the drafting of monthly, intermediate
and final internal and external reports.
➢ Participate in external meetings on peace, social cohesion and gender if
necessary and report to the Zone Coordinator and staff.
➢ Carry out permanent monitoring of the host community so that it is involved
and represented to the highest possible degree and without any exclusion, without
any discrimination in all aspects of life in the project area or
in the host communities including the planning, carrying out and monitoring
activities in the peace, social cohesion and gender component.
➢ Identify, train and monitor the work of peer educators.
➢ Monitor peaceful & gender coexistence activities with
local communities as planned by the project and under the supervision of the
Zone Coordinator.
➢ Contribute to the identification and recording of all field visits
in the appropriate files for management and reporting of activities and
maintain orderly, transparent and accessible filing.
➢ Contribute to scrupulously recording information, updating the
databases in real time with the support of the Database Manager
and the PMERAL officer.
➢ Assist the Peace, Social Cohesion and Gender Monitors in the
drafting of reports and other communications.
➢ Develop intensive contacts with local leaders,
religious leaders and state services.
➢ Inform the Peace, Social Cohesion and Gender Monitors of any
changes related to the implementation of activities, field conditions and
other elements considered relevant.
➢ Contribute to the monitoring and implementation of quality programs by
adopting the approach established between FLM and CLWR/GAC.
➢ Help develop “new approaches” to raise awareness among
communities about peace, social cohesion and gender.
➢ Work for gender integration, respect for the principles of PSEA and
handling of complaints.
