Context
Impact Santé Afrique (ISA) is a non-governmental organization based in Cameroon whose
main objective is to contribute to improving the health of populations by implementing
transformative and sustainable programs (for more For information, visit
www.impactsante.org). ISA research Africa Regional Technical Advisor (
Community engagement against malaria, gender and communication) as part of the
“REACH” project supported by a consortium led by PATH under USAID/PMI funding over a
period of 5 years (potentially renewable) from January 8, 2024. This project aims to
provide technical support and strengthen it in a sustainable manner with an emphasis on
the ownership of local actors, genuine community engagement,
communication for behavior change and the integration of gender into
programs to combat malaria in Africa.
Main Mission:
Placed under the supervision of the Executive Director of Impact Santé Afrique, the Africa
Regional Technical Advisor (Community engagement against malaria, gender and
communication), will have the main mission of providing technical support in the
development, contextualization , development of high impact malaria strategies and actions
in communication for behavior change, advocacy,
gender integration and community engagement for the fight against malaria in the countries involved
in the project.
He/she will ensure the achievement of the project objectives according to the following pillars:
 Deploy methodologies through a subnational approach to adaptation and
human-centered design (CCH).
 Promote ownership and leadership at the local level to build
resilient systems.
 Maximize opportunities to strengthen local partners and institutions so that they
receive direct funding to lead malaria control and elimination efforts
.
 Systematize and integrate the collection and analysis of high quality data into all
levels to identify and reach those left behind and their needs
 Ensure that design and implementation take into account equality between men
and women

 




 

Responsibilities: Ensure the technical quality of interventions (communications, gender,
malaria community engagement) in order to obtain a significant impact and thus strengthen
the objectives of the project in a sustainable manner.
So specifically, he/she will be responsible for:
 Providing highly technical support to countries in their various activities
 Ensuring quality responses to country requests and the implementation of the
project’s ISA activities on time;
● Ensure the quality of the production of technical project documents taking into
account the project objectives;
● Pilot and support the integration of gender and social inclusion in the
project’s malaria programs;
● Lead and support community and local stakeholder engagement in the
project’s malaria programs
● Prepare and participate in project strategic and monitoring meetings at all levels
● Any other task assigned by ISA as part of this project.

 

 

Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in communication, advocacy, social sciences, public health or a
related field;
● Have at least 10 years of experience in the indicated area of ​​specialization
● Demonstrate experience of at least 3 years in a similar position
● Good knowledge of malaria (global strategies on prevention and care
)
● Capacity to work in an international/multicultural environment;
● Proven experience in the development of professional documents conforming to
international standards
● Good bilingual oral and written expression (English and French);
● Proven experience of oral communication, participation in debates and discussions
in national or international forums
● Experience in knowledge transmission and team coaching
Assets:
● Experience in project management under USAID funding
● Ability to develop solid working relationships with colleagues and different
stakeholders such as partners, community members, donors
, civil society, etc.;
● Positive and dynamic attitude;
● Ability to plan, prioritize and organize your work;
● Ability to work to meet deadlines.
