RESPONSIBILITIES
Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the ICLA Assistant position is to contribute to the daily implementation of Information, Advice and Legal Assistance activities in the NRC intervention area for the Eastern Region Cameroon.

 

General responsibilities:

The holders of the position of ICLA Assistant will be responsible for:

Assisting in the planning and qualitative implementation of project activities in the area by respecting the indicators set for their area of ​​intervention;
Contribute to the development of the zone strategy by identifying the needs and opportunities to assist the populations. Works with the officers, Coordinator and/or Specialist to deepen the quality of the intervention;
Ensure a relevant and quality follow-up with ICLA clients in maintaining confidentiality and respect for the person;
Contribute to the correct entry of information in the registration and monitoring database as well as in the activity database;
Assist with information gathering for weekly and monthly reporting;
Assist with the proper planning of activities to achieve the indicators;
Communicate to the ICLA Officer all information and data for the proper implementation of the projects;
Maintain regular contact with communities and authorities;
Upon approval of the coordinator and validation of the base manager, take on the interim responsibilities of the officer in his absence.
Specific responsibilities

 

 

Implementation of the activities defined by the Line Manager;
Listens to the beneficiaries, identifies the needs and facilitates the obtaining of solutions or directs the stakeholders;
Participates in the design and improvement of ICLA tools;
Develops and conducts training with NRC teams and other partners on the topics of civil documentation, Housing, Land and Property, including Collaborative Conflict Management;
Contributes to the training of local leaders or opinion leaders (teachers, religious leaders, young people, members of protection committees) on various themes relating to protection;
Fills in and analyzes the listening sheets and the protection needs assessment sheets at all phases of the implementation of ICLA projects;
Maintains records for reporting, produces relevant reports and performs any other related task requested by the hierarchy when writing proposals, defining indicators and developing program activities;
Participates in meetings, sector groups, seminars and training workshops (internal or external) and contributes to the capacity building of all NRC staff and partner teams in protection

 




 

QUALIFICATIONS
General Professional Skills:

Professional experience in supporting communities in the areas of Civil Status and Land Law Demonstrated
results on the responsibilities of the position.
English an asset.
Context-specific skills, knowledge and experience:

Have a university degree (Bac +3) in law. Good knowledge of the legal framework in terms of civil documentation, land law and Amicable
Conflict Management In-
depth knowledge of the operational environment of the Eastern region, and of the humanitarian response to the Central African crisis in particular
to work in a team and in a multicultural environment
Affordable, reliable and respectful of confidentiality
Proven presentation and training skills
Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

A fixed term contract of 12 months renewable depending on the availability of funds.

Position based in Batouri with 70% field travel
