Position to be filled: Cases Manager (07)
ALTERNATIVES-Cameroun is the Association for Freedom, Tolerance, Expression and Respect for People of Indigent Nature or Victims of Social Exclusion. The Association promotes the defense of human rights, is non-profit, governed by Law No. 90/053 . It has been legally recognized since October 27, 2006 by the Prefecture of Wouri (Declaration n°204/RDDA/C19/BAPP) . Since 2008 we have opened a center called “ Access Medical Center ” in order to advocate accessibility to HIV information, prevention and treatment of this infection.
In order to carry out its mission within the framework of the CHILL project with its partners , ALTERNATIVES-Cameroon is recruiting 07 motivated and committed Case Managers (CM).
The position is open to internal and external applications to ALTERNATIVES-Cameroon .
JOB MISSIONS :
• Ensure awareness of the target population in the field and referral to the Drop-In-Center (DIC)
Under the supervision of the lead Case Manager , case managers must demonstrate skills and extensive experience in monitoring people living with HIV, and will perform the following tasks:
Assist with follow-up, group and individual counseling as part of psychosocial follow-up
- Carry out pre and post counseling; • Carry out follow-up counselling;
Organize and animate discussion groups, support groups and any other similar activity for beneficiaries living with HIV
Screening for gender-based violence and psychosocial support for survivors
Properly inform all collection tools (paper and digital);
Update cohort registries and patient tracking databases
Maintain and update records of positive beneficiaries;
Participate if necessary in home visits of the people followed
- Periodically write reports of activities carried out
Training/Diplomas: BAC+2, Training diplomas in social sciences
Professional skills and knowledge
– Have a good knowledge of HIV and other related topics;
– Have at least 2 years of experience in counseling and psychosocial support for PLHIV;
– Have experience in a similar position;
– Mastery of the computer tool;
– Have a good knowledge of key and vulnerable populations
– Be in accordance with the statutes and internal regulations of Alternatives Cameroon
– Speak and write fluently either French and/or English
– Be in non-judgment and confidentiality
– Have a very good knowledge of the hot spots of the intervention area
– Knowledge in community projects (NGOs/OBCs/OBFs)
– The incumbent of this position must be able to work independently and outside normal working hours to meet the association’s quality and deadline requirements.
Duration of the contract : 12 months trial period including
Salary intention : According to salary grid

– A detailed CV
– A copy of the National Identity Card
– A copy of the highest diploma
– A copy of the certificates of services previously held in a similar position if possible.
