The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law whose main mission is to improve in a sustainable and measurable manner the social situation of the Cameroonian population and to promote health. Thus, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its partners in the public and private sectors to offer high-quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For over twenty-five years, ACMS has been providing the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria, and HIV prevention, among others.

The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is seeking candidates for the positions of Information Technology Specialists (M/F) based in Ngaoundéré and Garoua.
What are we recruiting?
The IT Specialists will provide support to all program staff. They will ensure that computer hardware and software, as well as networks and servers, operate properly and consistently. The IT Specialists will be required to install programs, configure networks and databases, and provide support to end users. They will handle several areas of IT support, such as information security, database administration, or server maintenance. They will work under the supervision of the Medical Informatics Manager with the following main responsibilities:

Essential functions:
Install and configure networks
Work directly with regional office servers and networks, performing installation, improvement and maintenance tasks,
Ensure that employee workstations can successfully connect to networks and access critical organizational data at all times, Configure network security settings and connect peripherals, such as printers and scanners, that are used by multiple users.
Manage databases
Build a database architecture so that data is properly stored and easily accessible;
Implement data storage and retrieval protocols, adjust permissions, and maintain data security and integrity during migrations, backups, and daily use;
Use their expertise in database programs and languages to support program-wide access to databases.
Provide user support
Provide direct support to users across the organization , Assist in configuring hardware or software;
Diagnose connectivity or data access issues,
Answer questions about hardware or software ,
Assist users in accessing shared drives and devices ,
Provide assistance to help desk personnel and technicians. Manage information security
Maintain the security of I f information across the organization. ,
Monitor access logs and develop security procedures for databases;
Implement anti-virus programs on workstations;
Develop policies for e-mail security and perform periodic audits and backups of data to prevent loss of information and unauthorized access.
Troubleshooting Systems and Hardware
Support the organization by troubleshooting systems and hardware, especially after a server migration or organization-wide upgrade; Identify issues with new hardware or software;
Work with users or on the back-end of servers to quickly resolve these issues and avoid delays;
Write reports on hardware and software issues. Qualifications and skills required:
Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a relevant field;
Have at least three (3) years of experience as an information technology specialist or in a similar capacity;
Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks and appropriate software applications;
Familiarity with the principles of Internet security and data privacy
;
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills; Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical details to a non-technical audience;
Expertise in data management and security;
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills; Expertise in managing multiple tasks;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
