As such, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its public and private sector partners to offer high-quality healthcare programs, reaching all populations in need. For over twenty-five years, ACMS has been providing the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria and HIV prevention among others.

The Camerounaise Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is looking for candidates in the position of PMTCT and pediatric specialist (M/F) based in Ngaoundéré and Garoua.
What do we recruit?
The PMTCT (Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission) and Pediatric Specialist will play a critical role in strengthening the health systems and service delivery mechanisms for preventing HIV transmission from mothers to their children and ensuring comprehensive pediatric care. This role involves providing technical assistance to healthcare providers, supporting the implementation of PMTCT and pediatric care programs, and ensuring adherence to national and international guidelines. The specialist will also oversee the integration of HIV prevention, treatment, and care services into maternal and child health (MCH) platforms. The reports to Integrated Service Delivery Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
  Provide technical guidance and support for the establishment and operationalization of one-stop-shop service delivery models at PMT CT sites.
  Ensure that the one-stop-shop model integrates comprehensive maternal and child health services with HIV prevention, testing, and treatment.




  Monitor the implementation of the one-stop-shop model, using data on service uptake, customer satisfaction, and health outcomes to assess the model’s effectiveness. Develop and facilitate the implementation of protocols for routine HIV education, counseling, testing, and retesting for all pregnant women at facility and community levels.
  Engage community health workers and local organizations to extend HIV education, counseling, and testing services to hard-to-reach communities for women who may not access facility-based services.
     Ensure that all HIV-positive pregnant and breastfeeding women are promptly linked to treatment and care services.
  Oversee the integration of HIV prevention services into antenatal care (ANC) clinics, targeting adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).
  Ensure that AGYW receives comprehensive HIV prevention packages, including education, risk assessment, and prevention commodities.
  Facilitate the integration of dual HIV and syphilis testing into routine ANC services. Provide training and support to healthcare providers on dual testing and the management of co-infections to support the dual elimination of HIV and syphilis. Support the scale-up of partner testing initiatives, ensuring that all partners of PBFW are offered HIV testing services.
  Promote index case testing for HIV-positive PBFW, ensuring that sexual partners and biological children are tested and linked to care if needed.
  Work with community-based organizations to ensure continuous follow-up and support for partners and family members identified through ICT.
  Advocate for and support the availability of optimized antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens for all HIV-positive pregnant and breastfeeding women, and children. Develop and implement cohort monitoring systems to track the health outcomes of mother-baby pairs.
    Support healthcare providers in conducting regular follow-ups through phone calls and other communication methods to monitor adherence to treatment and services for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children, and identify challenges.
    Establish and support a mother mentor program where newly identified HIV-positive PBFWs are paired with experienced mother mentors.
    Ensure that the mother mentors provide adherence support, counseling, and follow-up to their peers for the first six months in care, support the tracking of mother-baby peers, and early identification of challenges.
  Develop a structured follow-up system for women with high viral loads, including the establishment of viremic clinics.




  Facilitate the implementation of home visits, phone calls, and other outreach activities to ensure that women with HVL receive timely and appropriate care. Oversee the active search and re-engagement of HIV-exposed infants (HEI) lost to follow-up (LTFU) and facilitate their enrollment into care.
    Collaborate with community-based organizations to identify and enroll orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) into appropriate support programs.
  Lead and participate in early infant diagnosis (EID) quality improvement meetings and collaboratives.
    Identify gaps in EID services and work with stakeholders to implement solutions to improve the quality and coverage of EID.
    Provide technical assistance in the establishment, operationalization, and expansion of pediatric centers of excellence.
    Ensure that PTCEs are equipped to provide comprehensive care and treatment for HIV-positive children and adolescents
Qualifications and skills required:
  Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or any related field.
 Minimum of 3 years of experience in PMTCT and pediatric HIV care. Strong knowledge of HIV treatment and prevention protocols, Fluency in English and French.

         Strong leadership and organizational skills.
         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
