Health And Conservation (HAC) is a scientific-social organization that has existed in Cameroon since
2020, and which works in the fields of surveillance, health management, ecology and
conservation, public health, One Health, CREC, research and advocacy.
As part of its activities in the Central Region, HAC is recruiting one (01)
Epidemiological Surveillance Project Manager for its Ayos base.

Job description
The position reports to HAC’s Project Coordination, under the direct coordination of the
Activities Coordinator. The position is based in Ayos, with possible travel within the
country.
The main objective of the position is the implementation and monitoring of all project activities in the
field, in all intervention areas.
The missions of the Project Manager are as follows (non-exhaustive):
1. Coordination and representation
Ensure the smooth running of project activities and establish fruitful relationships with all stakeholders
at the operational level in the intervention areas;
Represent the organization at all technical and operational meetings in the
project intervention areas and with donors;
Participate in coordination meetings with the Prefecture, Delegations of Health, Livestock,
Fisheries and Animal Industries, the Environment, and any other necessary;
Contribute to all aspects of early detection of public health events in the
intervention area;
Be the HAC interface on the ground;
Ensure the coordination of the activities of the entire project;
Ensure regular and active presence in humanitarian, conservation,
sectoral, and other coordination forums.
2. Supervision, monitoring and capitalization
Provide supervision of the project monitoring and evaluation system;
Participate in data analysis in close collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation officer and
project staff;
Participate in the various project management exercises;
Monitor the progress of results and the implementation of project strategies;
Coordinate the preparation of project staff reports and ensure that
data is forwarded to project stakeholders.
3. Team and human resources management
Be responsible for managing the team in the field;
Participate in the recruitment and support of staff recruited under the project;
Organize coordination meetings with the project team and with
HAC coordination teams;
Supervise the work of project staff during project implementation, and collaborate in
staff training by ensuring their follow-up within the project.
4. Strategic analysis
Continuously conduct analyses of the weaknesses and strengths of project activities, through
supervision and monitoring, the strengthened and active link with stakeholders and
beneficiaries of the project;
Make innovative proposals and participate in the development of new proposals and
orientations.
5. Accountability
Ensure, with the accountability officer, that all accountability tools are put in place at all
stages of the project and ensure their effective operation;
Report all abuses and cases of fraud.
Desired profile
Master’s level (Bac + 5) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, Medical and
Veterinary Sciences, or any other relevant field related to the position;
2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position.
Required skills
Strong management and project management skills;
Good training skills for adults and young people;
Good knowledge of IHR, IDSR;
Knowledge of CREC techniques and the “One Health” approach in surveillance and
community awareness;
Strong knowledge of infectious and communicable diseases, including
priority zoonoses in Cameroon;
Knowledge of vaccination protocols for priority zoonotic diseases
Experience with donors such as BHA, ECHO, USAID, FAO, World Bank, etc. desired;
Good knowledge of the intervention area;
Excellent organizational, reporting and communication skills;
Fluency in French required, fluency in English is an asset;
Demonstrate autonomy, initiative and be able to produce excellent results with
limited means;
Good command of analytical software for epidemiology (Excel, QGIS, SPSS, etc.).
