IT Manager at the KHPC Kikot-Mbebe Hydro Power Company
Joint venture between the State of Cameroon and Groupe Électricité de France (EDF), which aims to design, build and operate the Kikot-Mbebe hydroelectric development on the Sanaga River, with an installed capacity of 500 MW, the largest in the Central African sub-region.

Project Description
In line with the Sanaga hydroelectric development, the Cameroonian government has signed an agreement with EDF with the objective of developing the Kikot hydroelectric project.
The Kikot project site is located approximately 2.5 hours from Yaoundé, spanning the Littoral and Centre regions, and three departments: Lékié, Nyong-et-Kélé and Sanaga Maritime. A local office has been established in Evodoula. The project team divides its time between the KHPC Yaoundé offices (Bastos district) and Evodoula in the field.
Job Description
The IT Manager carries out his activities on the KHPC IT perimeter. He will be placed under the authority of the HR & GM Director.
The IT Manager is responsible for:
Ensuring the organization, monitoring and management of the company’s IT system, in line with the strategy of the general management.
– Plan and manage the IT service, including assigning tasks, managing calls for tenders, and supervising infrastructure purchases and IT licenses.
– Accelerate operational excellence through the provision of high value-added digital services.
The network therefore comprises two sites, with eventually around a hundred user stations.
Main responsibilities
1. Development and construction of the IT strategy
– Define strategic directions in IT matters with the General Management;
– Evaluate and recommend IT investments that meet the needs expressed;
– Define the IT security policy and propose the measures to be taken;
– Define all the means of internal communication necessary for the implementation of new IT projects (training for users, support documents);
– Ensure the protection of company and user data.
2. Installation Maintenance and securing of the IT infrastructure system
– Define the norms and standards of databases, tools, systems or networks;
– Supervise network, system, security and application infrastructures and guarantee their operation and security;
– Ensure the maintenance of infrastructures;
– Master the different computer languages, operating systems and the use of software;
– Anticipate the IT needs of the company;
– Ensure the monitoring of the quality of IT support;
– Manage the administration of the network and the server;
– Ensure the monitoring of the maintenance and development of business applications (Auto Desk AEC, Microsoft 365, Covadis, Windows Server, MS Project, Aconex, Primavera Cloud, Sage, … etc.);
3. Monitoring and evaluation of IT projects / tools
– Create operational monitoring dashboards;
– Manage physical stocks of IT equipment (software, computers, tablets, telephones, keyboards, printers);
– Ensure proper compliance with specifications;
– Ensure control of budgets relating to modifications to information systems;
4. Assistance to operational staff
– Provide technical support and assistance;
– Inform, advise and assist users on IT tools.
Profile and skills sought
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in information technology (Bac+3), in the fields of IT (networks and telecommunications, system and network administration, IT security, etc.).
10 years of experience and at least 5 years in a similar position in the administration and maintenance of IT networks.
Microsoft 365 and Fortigate certification would be an asset.
Requirements for the position:
– Good knowledge of the Microsoft 365 cloud (Azure, Exchange, SharePoint);
– Good knowledge of UTMs (Fortigate, Sophos, etc.);
– Good knowledge of the ITIL framework;
– Good knowledge of system administration (virtualization, Windows server);
– Good knowledge of computer networks (switch, router, firewall, etc.);
– Good knowledge of IT security standards (ISO 27001);
– Proficiency in IT project management;
– Good command of French and English, both spoken and written;
– Excellent writing skills and formalization of summaries and reports.

Travel throughout Cameroon is expected.
