Focus on our activities CAMEROON
Our mission in Cameroon has existed since 2008. PUI is based in Yaoundé, and operates mainly on two bases Kousseri and Maroua, in the Far North region. Its main project is the coordination of the RRM mechanism (rapid response mechanism) in partnership with local and international NGOs, with an integrated response, mainly in Water, Hygiene, Sanitation (WASH), and in shelters and AME. Other integrated WASH projects are carried out in the same region.

As Coordinator
- Assistant Field Officer
- e Programs, you will ensure at the grassroots level the monitoring of the effective implementation of the program and that of contractual issues and PUI reporting. You will also be responsible for representation on programmatic subjects with other humanitarian actors and state technical and administrative authorities at the local level.
To this end, your responsibilities will be as follows: Strategic development, monitoring of operations and reporting: You will coordinate the project teams through the program managers and ensure the proper implementation of the operational and qualitative aspects of the programs (monitoring of objectives, compliance with deadlines and budget deadlines, quality control, team synergy) in accordance with the contractual documents and in compliance with PUI policies and procedures. You will ensure compliance with contractual obligations and coordinate the writing of reports. You will ensure that the programs developed are in line with PUI’s mandate and strategy and propose new interventions based on the evolution of the humanitarian situation in the region.
MEAL: You will coordinate the MEAL department and ensure the implementation of the activities of this department as well as interactions with the programs and the design of relevant tools.
Representation: You will participate in technical forums (working groups) at the local level in collaboration with project managers. You will assist the Field Coordinator in coordination meetings between NGOs or with political and administrative authorities.
Human Resources: You will be the direct supervisor of the project managers in this base and will ensure that appropriate support and capacity building is provided to senior programme management.
Logistics and Administration: You will support project managers in supervising the logistics and administrative tasks of projects with the support of the logistics and administration departments.
The challenges that await you:
1. Supervision of the emergency response to the floods in conjunction with the multi-sectoral rapid response and sectoral response teams. 2. Start of a new 4-month emergency project 3. Strategic and operational programmatic support to the Field Coordinator 4. Monitoring of the growing volume of activities on the base
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Training
You can demonstrate a higher degree (Master 2 or equivalent) in a field related to project management, international development and/or social sciences.
Experience
You have at least two years of experience in project management and/or monitoring, two years as a humanitarian project manager, and proven experience in team management. Have you already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? This will be an undeniable asset!
SKILLS
You have mastered the methodology and the project management cycle, you also have skills in studies and diagnosis. Knowledge of the main institutional donors will be appreciated.
Required qualities
You demonstrate a strong commitment to humanitarian principles, are able to delegate and supervise the work of a multidisciplinary team, support and strengthen the capacities of project managers. You have good analytical and synthesis skills, are a good communicator, both written and oral, and know how to guarantee effective results under pressure from deadlines. You demonstrate organization, rigor, flexibility and a strong resistance to stress.
LANGUAGES
Do you speak French and English like the back of your hand? Great, it’s essential for this position! If you also speak Arabic, that would be a definite asset.

Status: Employee on Fixed-Term Contract
Gross monthly salary: 2,340.00 – 2,500.00 EUR depending on your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI

Living expenses (“Per Diem”)
Break schedule: 5 working days at 3 and 9 months of mission
Paid Leave Plan: 5 weeks of paid leave/year + return plane ticket home every 6 months
