The African Intellectual Property Organization is seeking applications for the recruitment of one (1) Head of Supply and Logistics Department.




 

GENERAL INFORMATION
JOB TITLE: Head of Supply and Logistics Department
CATEGORY: C3 – 1st Level
LEVEL (GRADE): Executives
DATE OF ENTRY INTO SERVICE: One month from notification of appointment
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: Permanent job after a probationary period of 2 years.
ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT: Office of the Director General

 



 

PLACE OF ASSIGNMENT: YAOUNDE (Republic of Cameroon)
WORKING LANGUAGE: French

REMUNERATION: In accordance with the texts in force at OAPI.

MAIN DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, the incumbent is mainly responsible for:
> Designing and implementing a material flow management policy;
> prepare and implement the timetable for awarding contracts and orders;
> prospecting, drafting calls for tenders and selecting suppliers capable of meeting the Organization’s strategic needs;
> control the purchasing procedures and the performance of the contracts;
> create and monitor the OAPI price list; animate and improve the logistics and transport system;
> draw up and update the file of approved suppliers by sector of activity;
> build and manage supplier quality and develop long-term relationships with suppliers;
> optimize transport;
> ensure the management of the store and stocks;
> ensure the management of transport tickets;
> carry out any other related task entrusted by the hierarchy.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a BAC+5 diploma in organizational management or design engineering or a professional master’s degree with a specialization in logistics and transport or an equivalent diploma;
have at least five (5) years of professional experience in the field;
have a good knowledge of the entire purchasing function;
have a very good knowledge of the supply chain;
have a good knowledge of IT tools and management software dedicated to the purchasing and supply function (SAGE, commercial SAARI, etc.);
have a good knowledge of transport rules and standards and legal constraints related to border crossing;
have the ability to measure the impact of the actions carried out by setting up tools (for example the stock turn or stock turnover rate);
be able to organize and negotiate externally;
be able to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment;
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Be a national of one of the OAPI member countries. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates from countries under-represented within the Organization;
be aged at least 18 and at most 55 on the closing date for the submission of applications;
enjoy their civil rights and be of good moral character.
COMPOSITION OF THE APPLICATION FILE
Any candidate for this position must compile a file containing the following documents: A duly completed application form (available on the w-uynapizint website); an extract from the birth certificate or a certified true copy of the birth certificate or the supplementary judgment in lieu thereof; a detailed curriculum vitae; an extract from the criminal record dating from less than three months; a certified copy of the diplomas, titles, certificates of qualification; a regularly established certificate of public or private jobs previously held and indicating their duration (certified by the administration of origin if it is a civil servant or the last employer) a certificate of medical examination, dating from less than three months, certifying that the candidate fulfills the conditions of physical and mental aptitude.

The successful candidate must, prior to taking service:
Present the originals of his diplomas, titles and civil status documents; provide a sworn statement of free engagement if he is not a civil servant or a detachment certificate if he is a civil servant.
