Who are we ?

The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS), member of the PSI network is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law whose main mission is to improve in a sustainable and measurable way the social situation of the Cameroonian population and to promote health and family prosperity.

 

Thus, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its public and private sector partners to deliver high quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For more than twenty-five years, ACMS has provided the people of Cameroon with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria, and HIV prevention among others.

The Program for Access to Reproductive Health Services (PASSR) which is recruiting is a development project of the Republic of Cameroon co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through its development bank (KfW). ACMS is in charge of implementing this Program on a large scale.

Indeed, the PASSR implemented in four (04) regions of Cameroon (East, Adamaoua, North and Far North) aims to increase the use of modern methods of family planning, in particular methods of long duration of action.

Your contribution:

  • Support the establishment and animation of the monitoring, evaluation, data collection and analysis system;
  • Support the capacity building of agents involved in the monitoring-evaluation system;
  • Contribute to the development, updating and application of the annual Program Monitoring and Evaluation Plan;
  • Contribute to the identification of potential areas of research – in the field in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the Program Manager;
  • Supervise the collection of data and the filling of registers and sheets;
  • Support in the analysis of the data collected;
  • Provide support to regional coordinators and data collection officers in the regional office regarding activity monitoring missions and ensure that reports are accurate, precise and submitted on time;
  • Contribute to the identification of the capacity building needs of colleagues in terms of data collection and learning and propose a consequent action plan;

 



 

  • Support the Research and Monitoring & Evaluation Manager in collecting information to contribute to strategic planning;
  • Support the research, monitoring & evaluation manager in the implementation of recommendations from assessments and audits;
  • Become familiar with the use of DHIS2 and HNQIS;
  • Strengthen the capacities of CAQs on the proper use of the digital data collection tool.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Research and Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant  (M/F) who will embody the values ​​of ACMS listed below:

The basics :

  • Required diploma: Minimum  Bachelor ‘s degree  in Statistics, Biostatistics, Demography, Social Sciences Epidemiology, Public Health or any other diploma deemed equivalent;
  • Have at least  two (052) years  of professional experience in the monitoring and evaluation of Health Projects / Programs with design and management of information systems;
  • In substitution of the required diploma  : Have  five (05) years  of relevant professional experience  in the monitoring and evaluation of projects / programs of ste with design and management of information system;
  • Have experience in supervising collection work, quality control of routine data entry or surveys.
  • Have skills in qualitative / quantitative methods, capacity building and training;
  • Have experience in computer analysis of information systems, programming and database management under MS ACCESS, SQL, etc.;
  • Have strong problem-solving skills;
  • Have a good ability to plan and foresee potential and emerging obstacles;
  • Have the ability to establish strong public relations and be comfortable communicating in a team;
  • Have a high level of autonomy at work, but with a deep team spirit;
  • Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision within a multicultural team;
  • Demonstrate adaptability, patience, ingenuity, resilience and flexibility;
  • Have results-based management skills;
  • Be available to carry out regular field missions.

 

What would turn us on?

  • Familiarity with social marketing and/or NGOs;
  • Fluent in French and/or English and have a sufficient command of the other language;
  • Good knowledge of computers and software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Passion for public health;
  • Know how to process data in MS EXCEL (writing calculation algorithms, calculating averages, producing graphs, etc.);
  • Proven knowledge in data processing and analysis with SPSS, STATA, Epi Data or CSPro;
  • Good knowledge of DHIS2;
  • Excellent capacity for synthesis, precision and conciseness;
