Who are we?




The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS), a member of the PSI network, is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law, whose main mission is to improve in a sustainable and measurable way the social situation of the Cameroonian population and to promote the health and prosperity of families. Thus, CASI works in cooperation with the government and its public and private sector partners to deliver high-quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For over twenty-five years, ACMS has provided the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria, and HIV prevention among others.

The USAID-funded Impact Malaria project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Cameroonian government and local stakeholders to implement interventions to reduce malaria-related morbidity and maternal and child mortality. Thus, this project aims to improve access to timely malaria screening and treatment by providing community health workers with the training and supervision needed to provide effective and quality care.



Your Contribution:

  • Manage the development and implementation of the PMI-funded malaria project, including regular updating of annual work plans;
  • Manage the project to meet donor expectations with quality and timely results and budget;
  • Contribute to coordination between programme and operations managers;
  • Develop and manage a team of diverse members, including finance, marketing, monitoring, evaluation and learning, to co-create and support project goals and objectives;
  • Contribute to the knowledge management aspects of the project, including the collection and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices;
  • Provide supervision to ensure that the project reaches the benchmarks defined in the monitoring and evaluation plan;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the project with USAID;
  • Act as a key liaison between USAID, Cameroon’s Ministry of Health, and other key stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager (M/F) who will embody the following CASI values:

The basics:

  • Degree required: Master II (or international equivalent) in public health, epidemiology or other relevant technical field.
  • Have at least 8 years of progressive experience in malaria management or other public health programs in Cameroon or the region, including proven technical experience in designing and implementing malaria control activities in the African context.
  • Substitute for the required degree: Have more than (25) Twenty-five years of relevant professional experience in the field of malaria project implementation.
  • Experience working with USAID and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations is an asset;
  • Successfully participate in the management of complex operations within specific donor awards and procedures, a wide geographical area and activities involving coordination with government and other stakeholders at all levels of the health system;
  • Strong leadership skills, management of multitasking teams with various responsibilities;
  • Have a professional command of English and French;
  • Excellent diplomatic skills and proven ability to work effectively with government officials, partners, donors and stakeholders at key levels;
  • Previous work experience in Cameroon is highly desirable.
  • Experience in team management;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Good ability to plan and anticipate potential and emerging obstacles;
  • Ability to establish strong public relations and be able to communicate in a team;
  • Have a high level of autonomy at work, but with a deep team spirit;
  • Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision within a multicultural team;
  • Demonstrate adaptability, patience, ingenuity, resilience and flexibility.
  • Results-based management skills;
  • Be available to carry out regular field missions.




What would we be interested in?

  • Familiarity with social marketing and/or NGOs;
  • Fluency in French and/or English and have a sufficient command of the other language;
  • Good command of computer tools and software (Word, power point, Excel)
  • Passion for public health;
  • Knowledge of management;
  • Excellent ability to synthesize, be precise and concise;
