The African Forestry and Agricultural Society of Cameroon is looking for several agronomist trainees for the needs of its services.
JOB DESCRIPTION
For a period of 6 to 12 months, as an “Agronomist Intern”:
- Training in oil palm and rubber cultivation (agricultural techniques, plantation development, budget monitoring and cost control);
- Training in plantation management;
- Interim of the Planting Assistant.
Subsequently, as a “Planting Assistant”:
- Assistant to the Plantation Manager;
- In charge of a division of oil palms and/or rubber trees (1,500 ha);
- Management of agronomic aspects (nurseries, development, harvesting and maintenance);
- Creation and maintenance of infrastructure (roads, bridges, villages, etc.);
- Budget monitoring and cost control;
- Supervision of the workforce (team leaders and workers, 500 – 1,000 people).
PROFILE
- Master in Agronomy;
- Francophone, knowledge of English is a plus.
Experience required
- 0 to 2 years;
- Experience in a similar environment is a plus.
