PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY
The French Red Cross (CRf) and the Cameroon Red Cross (CRC) are humanitarian associations, auxiliary to the public authorities, which provide aid and assistance to
vulnerable people.
Since 2010, the French Red Cross (CRf) has been present in Cameroon and intervenes in the fields of health, nutrition and food security and livelihoods (SAME) in the Eastern and Far North regions.
RECRUITMENT CONTEXT
JOB OVERVIEW
I. Job Objective/Summary.
Under the responsibility and supervision of the Head of Sub-Delegation, and in collaboration with
the CRC/CRf team of Maroua, the Mayo-Danay Flood Project Manager will be in charge of the
implementation, monitoring and coordination of the activities of the Mayo-Danay Flood project of the CRC/CRF in Maroua.
II. Location of the position
This position is open to persons with the required profile and the successful candidate must reside in Maroua
by his/her own means; It is therefore not subject to relocation. The candidate selected at the end of the recruitment process will therefore not be able to claim the
status of relocated employee, he will have
to provide a certificate of domicile attesting to his place of habitual residence.
III. Responsibilities
1. Planning, coordinating, implementing and supervising flood relief activities (displaced and returned)
- Ensures the planning of project activities;
- Supports the SERA in updating the tools for collecting and monitoring activities;
- Oversees the receipt, management and distribution of food and non-food items to beneficiaries,
- Oversees the sensitization of beneficiaries on good hygiene practices and cholera prevention;
- Oversees the construction of emergency latrines for beneficiaries;
- Coordinates with his/her team and partners the implementation of activities in the field;
- Contributes to the organization and participates in coordination meetings in collaboration with state and humanitarian partners (flood unit).
2. Ensure the good managerial management of the people under his responsibility, support and strengthen the skills of all the staff of the project team
- Validates the supervision schedule of the employees under his/her responsibility;
- Supervises the field officer as well as the SERA Officer of the delegation in the implementation of the project activities;
- Participates in budget monitoring and monitoring of the purchasing plan;
- Assesses training needs and proposes a training plan for his/her team;
- Provides technical supervision to the staff under his/her responsibility through training according to identified needs;
- Participates in the development of IAPs and the evaluation of the staff under his responsibility.
3. Design tools, collect, write and analyze reports
- Supports the SERA Officer in the development of the tools necessary for the monitoring and evaluation of the project;
- Oversees the collection and analysis of data related to project activities;
- Contributes to the drafting of reports of all activities implemented on the project;
- Contributes to the drafting of internal (monthly reports) and external (interim and final reports) reports of the project;
- Participates in the development of new concept notes and new proposals.
4. Support coordination and advocacy activities
- Represents the FIU at coordination meetings related to the project;
- Contributes to maintaining the technical image of the CRf in the area;
- Contributes to maintaining the quality of relations with partners and ensures compliance with the principles and values of the CRf in terms of partnership.

The Mayo-Danay Flood Project Manager may be called upon to perform other tasks according to the needs of his department.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Age/Gender: Not specified
- Diploma/Level of Education and Experience: Hold a Master’s degree in Project Management or its equivalent;
Essential skills and experience:
- Have at least 4 years of relevant experience including 03 years in humanitarian project management. Experience in rapid response mechanism and livelihood food security would be an asset;
- Ability to work in cooperation with decentralized and decentralized state services;
- Mastery of project cycle management with strong community involvement;
- Speaking Fulfulde is an asset;
- Good mastery of the context of the Far North of Cameroon; specifically from the Mayo Danay department;
- Perfect command of the French language
Know-how required
- Mastery of the Office pack (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Internet, Epi-Info);
- Reporting capability;
- Analytical and synthesis skills;
- Knowledge of donor rules and reporting capabilities;
- Good pedagogical and negotiation skills.
Specific knowledge:
- Knowledge of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement through previous experience is a real advantage.
- Good mastery of the context of the Far North of Cameroon; specifically from the Mayo Danay department;
- Perfect command of the French language; Knowledge of Fulfulde and Arabic is an asset.
