Introduction

To carry out its activities, DEDI shares principles based on credibility and inclusion. We also share the values ​​based on discipline, solidarity, the conduct with determination of actions that lead communities, in their fundamental specificities, to participate effectively, efficiently and sustainably in positive changes in their environment. As part of the development of its activities in Cameroon and with a view to strengthening its team, the DEDI organization is seeking to build a roster by recruiting the following profile:

Community Animators

Duration of the contract:  According to financing

Location:  The entire extent of Cameroonian territory: The candidate will specify in his cover letter three (03) regions in order of preference

Brief job description

Community animators ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of the activities of the project to which they are assigned. They are in direct contact with the target communities and project stakeholders and serve as an intermediary between the community and the organization.

Main powers

• Participate in the creation, maintenance and organization of the community network;

• Implement, support and supervise community mobilization activities;

• Organize and participate in awareness-raising activities in accordance with the project to which he/she is assigned;

• Collect data from the field and relay it to the hierarchy to inform decision-making;

• Organize and conduct home visits if necessary;

• Make the link between the population and the local actors;

• Facilitate and coordinate periodic community meetings with community relays or community leaders, etc.;

• Accomplish any other task entrusted to him/her by the hierarchy and compatible with DEDI’s mission and vision.

Profile required

Training:  Social sciences, rural development or any other relevant training;

Diplomas:  At least have a Baccalaureate level;

Experience:  At least 1 year of experience in a similar position in community development, health, nutrition or any other relevant field;

Other aptitudes and/or skills:  Fluent in French/English, be of good character, flexible and willing to work in the field, knowledge of local languages ​​(a plus), good analytical skills, etc.
