AGROMAP is a regional company headquartered in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It designs and implements sustainability projects through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in Ivory Coast, Congo Brazzaville, Cameroon and Ghana. These projects have a positive socio-economic impact on small producers and their communities by improving their resilience to the effects of climate change. AGROMAP is strongly committed to the development of forest carbon credit projects. To ensure the operational implementation of projects on the ground, four strategic axes have been identified, namely the NBS axis, the Consulting axis, the Renewable Energy axis and the Technologies axis. As part of its expansion, AGROMAP is recruiting a Project Accountant for its Cameroon office.

Responsibilities 

Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Project Accountant’s main mission will be:

Accounting monitoring of projects

Collection of accounting information;
Analysis of accounting documents;
Allocation and entry of accounting documents;
Carrying out bank reconciliations;
Analyzing different accounts;
Carrying out stock and fixed asset inventory;
Financial management and management control

Developing and monitoring the office’s annual budget in collaboration with field teams and management;
Managing cash flow, anticipating financing needs, and developing cash flow forecasts;

Ensuring regular financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) for General Management and partners;
Supervising the management of payments, collections and relations with banks and financial institutions;
Administrative management, subsidies and project financing

Managing administrative aspects related to human resources (contracts, payroll, social and tax declarations);
Ensuring the management of purchases and contractual relations with suppliers (negotiation, monitoring of contracts);
Monitoring legal, social and tax files;
Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations specific to agroforestry;
Managing funding requests, public or private subsidies for agroforestry projects.
Monitoring funds dedicated to projects, ensuring proper allocation of resources, and reporting to donors.
Ensuring compliance of funded projects with legal obligations and donor objectives.
Desired profile 

BAC +3/4/5 in accounting, finance or related field.
Additional training in project management or leadership appreciated.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the sustainability, agroforestry, reforestation or carbon credit sectors.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills;

Ability to work independently and in a team;
Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (Sage Compta, Sage Payroll) and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
Conditions and Benefits

Position based in Yaoundé with frequent travel to project areas and internationally;
