Our Story
The Uncle Ne Jobs Network, a flagship initiative of the Uncle Ne Newspaper, was founded on May 21st 2017 by Tata Nelson Berinyuy as a response to the devastating humanitarian crisis in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions. What began as a mission to restore hope and livelihoods for war-affected communities has grown into a transformative platform empowering thousands of Cameroonians through employment, training, and community development.
The Crisis We Address
The Anglophone crisis, which escalated in 2018, has left a trail of destruction in its wake:
– Over 6,000 lives lost and countless others displaced or injured.
– 700,000+ internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 80,000+ refugees fleeing to neighboring countries.
– 1.4 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
– 70% of schools closed, depriving over 700,000 children of education.
– 60% of the population losing their livelihoods due to economic collapse.
In the face of this crisis, the Uncle Ne Jobs Network emerged as a beacon of hope, providing practical solutions to rebuild lives and communities.
