ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AT BEAC

The BEAC Academic Internship Program provides an opportunity for current students in all fields to better understand the functioning of the sub-regional Issuing Institution.




Overview

For 8 to 12 weeks, the intern works under the direct supervision of a supervisor to conduct a research project and finalize his or her thesis or dissertation. His or her dissertation may be presented to the managers of the entity where the internship took place. High-quality work may eventually be published as an article in one of the Bank’s journals.

The projects on which interns work depend on the activities of the host entity. These projects cover a broad range of economic, financial, and other issues present at the Bank.

Examples include:

    Inflation in the CEMAC Zone;
    Stock Exchange;
    Monetary Policy;
    Banking Regulation;
    Public Debt ;
    Payment System;
    etc.




Eligibility

Applicants must:

    Be nationals of one of the 6 CEMAC member states;
    Prepare a dissertation or thesis in the year in which the internship is requested;
    Be regularly registered as a student;
    Be over 18 years old;
    Have a good knowledge of one of the following three languages: French, English or Spanish (written and spoken).

Candidates must complete the BEAC internship application form https://www.beac.int/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/formulaire_cand.pdf and send it, with the approval of the institution where they are pursuing their studies, to the following address:

Documents to be presented by candidates:

    The BEAC internship application form duly completed, countersigned by the institution where the candidate is pursuing his studies or by the organization sponsoring the candidate;
    A recent CV with a cover letter;
    Copies of diplomas;
    A letter of recommendation from the university institution currently attended by the candidate;
    A brief description of the program or theme (thesis or dissertation) to be prepared during the internship (if applicable).

Please note that only complete applications will be processed.
Duration:

All internships will be authorized for a period of two months, possibly renewable for a period not exceeding three months.

Financial and administrative provisions

    BEAC interns may receive, upon decision of the BEAC Governor, a monthly lump sum allowance
    No medical coverage will be provided to them
