ACCOUNTANT
The accountant is responsible for recording, classifying
and reconciling
financial transactions related to the activities of the brokerage firm.
He/she ensures the accuracy and integrity of the data

financial statements, and contributes to the production of
reliable financial statements that comply with accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
 Bookkeeping:
o Record daily financial transactions
, including
purchases and sales of securities,
commissions, fees and interest. o Maintain up-to-date and accurate
accounting records . o Prepare bank reconciliations and account analyses.  Securities Accounting: o Record securities transactions , including stocks, bonds and derivatives. o Track acquisition costs, dividends and interest. o Value securities at fair market value.  Preparation of Financial Statements: o Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement . o Ensure that financial statements comply with current accounting standards (e.g. IFRS).  Internal Control: o Implement and maintain effective internal controls to prevent and detect errors and fraud. o Participate in internal and external audits.  Regulatory Compliance: o Ensure that accounting activities comply with laws and regulations applicable to the financial sector. o Prepare required regulatory reports .  Other Duties: o Assist the Chief Accountant and the Financial Director in their duties. o Participate in the improvement of accounting processes. o Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects. Qualifications:  Education: University degree in accounting, finance or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g. CPA) is an asset.  Experience: Experience in accounting, ideally in the financial sector or in a brokerage firm. Key Skills:  In-depth knowledge of accounting principles : Mastery of current accounting standards and accounting practices specific to the financial sector.  Technical skills: Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets.  Rigor and precision: Ability to work precisely and maintain accurate accounting records .

 Organizational and
Time Management Skills: Ability to effectively manage multiple
tasks and meet deadlines.
 Teamwork: Ability to collaborate
effectively with other members of
the accounting and finance team.
 Communication: Ability to communicate financial
information clearly and effectively
.
Work Environment (Position based in Yaoundé)
Full-time position, requiring long
working hours. The work environment is dynamic and
stimulating, with tight deadlines and ambitious goals
.
