Contract duration: 1 year renewable

CONTEXT
The Association for Support Services for Environmental Protection and
Development (SAPED) is an organization supporting the consolidation of the needs of development to environmental protection requirements. Created in 2008, it implements actions to support local development initiatives. Its mission is to “Offer adapted services to contribute to the sustainable development of organizations and populations”. As part of the implementation of its activities, SAPED is recruiting an
Accountant for its Yaoundé office.
JOB SUMMARY
The Accountant will provide support in the implementation of SAPED projects on
administrative, financial and accounting aspects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of SAPED, the Accountant will have, among other things,
the following responsibilities:
– Produce accounting, administrative and financial management tools and train
staff in their use;
– Ensure compliance with all administrative, financial and
accounting procedures as mentioned in the SAPED procedures manual;
– Regularly verify supporting documents that arrive at the office
regularly;
– Collect the data necessary for the regular feeding of the accounting software;
– Prepare financial reports according to the formats required by the various partners;

– Ensure the monitoring and development of personnel files with the relevant departments
(CNPS, taxes, labor inspection, immigration, etc.);
– Provide the necessary support to facilitate the development of budget proposals
for new projects;
– Effectively manage banking operations as well as the supply of the
Financial Assistant’s cash register;
– Supervise the Financial Assistant;
– Work closely with SAPED partners on
financial and accounting aspects;
– Collaborate with the entire SAPED team for good financial and accounting management
of projects;
– Carry out any other tasks assigned by SAPED hierarchy.
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
– Have a University Degree at Bac+3 level minimum in Accounting, Finance,
Management Control, Business Administration or a related field;
– Have relevant experience of at least 2 years in a similar position within projects implemented by a development organization;
– Good knowledge of accounting management software such as QuickBooks,
SAGE, etc.
– Good knowledge of the Cameroonian labor code;
– Good command of common Office suite software (Word, and particularly
Excel Spreadsheet);
– Good organizational skills and rigor in one’s work;
– Demonstrate flexibility and a great capacity for adaptation;
– Master the principle of confidentiality in the context of one’s profession;
– Have already participated in a Project Audit and have a good understanding of it;
– Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and
various stakeholders;
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
