Action Against Hunger is an international,
apolitical, non-denominational and non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for: 50 INVESTIGATORS

Contract duration: Depending on need
Start date: As soon as possible
Supervised by: SERA Manager

JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the SERA/MEAL base manager, the
investigators will work closely with the various Project Managers and field staff in conducting household surveys and/or individual interviews and/or group interviews on the programs implemented by Action Against Hunger in Batouri.

IN PARTICULAR, YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mission 1: Ensure a good understanding of communities and encourage their participation
in Action Against Hunger activity evaluations.
Establish good contact with the community and community leaders upon arrival in the work area;
Introduce Action Against Hunger and explain the purpose of the activity;
Mission 2: Ensure data collection
Identify the target person(s) of the investigation;
Ask questions following the orientation of the questionnaire;
Guide the respondent(s) throughout the information gathering process to promote a good understanding of the questions asked by the respondent(s);
Enter data/answers into the questionnaire form contained in the tablet/Smart Phone or the paper questionnaire/collection sheets;
Respect the time allowed for the interview;
Save the questionnaire on the tablet, check the information entered and then send it to the hierarchy. If it is the paper questionnaire or collection sheets, check the information that has been entered, correct it and send it to the hierarchy;
Participate in the daily debriefing;
Report any difficulties or obstacles to the hierarchy with proposed solutions;
Write a daily activity report in the required format.
Comply with the code of conduct, ACF policies and safety rules in place
DIPLOMAS/LEVEL OF EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

At least a Baccalaureate in general education, in social sciences; statistics.
Experience in data collection related to the health system, SAME, advocacy, local governance, mental health in an NGO
Experience with Action Against Hunger is an asset.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Good oral and written command of French.
Experience in data collection with questionnaire.
Good command of the use of the Kobo collect application on tablet and smartphone
Fluency in Kako, Gbaya, Fulfulde (one of the three mother tongues) would be an asset.
Ability to work in a team.
Commit to respecting and applying ACF’s gender policy.
ABILITY:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Dynamic, rigorous and respectful of established rules.
RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE

The Action Against Hunger recruitment procedure includes 3 key stages:
1. A pre-selection based on the submitted file (only candidates whose skills
and experience match the profile described in the offer are retained for the written test)
2. A written technical test
3. An oral interview
