Administrative and Operations Assistant Needed at the Center for Health Promotion and Research
Background: The Center for Health Promotion and Research provides high-quality laboratory diagnostic services,
undertakes programs to strengthen the health system, and engages in research to increase knowledge and inform
policy change.
Position summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative and Operations Assistant to
support key functions such as grant management, human resources, accounting activities, and general administration within the organization. This full-time position is based in Bamenda and requires approximately 5-15 % travel.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist with a variety of tasks, depending on their skill set, including;
• Assist the admin team to ensure that timely and accurate transactions are made
• Ensure completeness of supporting documentation for project activities and proper filing
• Assist in the procurement processes and inventory management
• Assist in administration of grants to ensure implementation and reporting in line with funder requirements
• Advise personnel on new or updated policies, procedures and monitor to ensure they are taken into
consideration when designing and implementing projects
• Review and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and systems to increase the
effectiveness of service delivery and administration of projects
• Use accounting software (eg. QuickBooks) and data analysis software (eg Excel) to perform work
• Provide general financial, administrative or logistics support as required for office management and for
projects
• Participate in development and maintenance of the quality management system in accordance with ISO
15189 standards
• Other duties as assigned, depending on the needs of the organization
Job Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field
• Preferred: 1+ years work experience in related area
• Effective organizational skills
• Strong interest to work as part of team to improve public health
• Highly self-motivated and ready to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communications skills in English, good working knowledge of French preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and willingness to learn new programs as needed
This position is planned for 6 months with the possibility for renewal depending on funding availability. If
