AFRICA FOOD IMPORT   SA is looking for an INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL BUYER

Attached to the SUPPLY CHAIN ​​Department, the International Industry Buyer will be responsible for:

ü  Purchasing various products,

ü  raw materials, spare parts for production equipment and production consumables internationally;

ü  Implement the purchasing management policy;

ü  Optimize the transport of goods internationally

 

 




 

ACTIVITIES

Analyze internal needs and conduct calls for tenders  :

–          Participate in the identification and definition of the needs of internal services in respect of cost optimization;

–          Conduct calls for tenders in strict compliance with the rules of transparency, fairness and impartiality;

–          Implement the negotiation strategy according to the target cost price;

–          Define and have approved by the tender management committee the criteria for selecting suppliers and awarding the contract;

 

 




 

 

–          Proceed with ordering according to the negotiated conditions and follow up on deliveries;

–          Monitor the execution of contracts, remind suppliers if necessary in order to limit errors or delays in delivery;

–          Check invoices and deal with disputes in case of occurrence and in collaboration with the legal department.

 

Search for new suppliers for investments, products or services:

–          Prospect markets, locally and internationally, via research on the internet, stores, fairs and others;

–          Update the supplier database;

–          Put in competition the suppliers likely to answer the imperatives of costs, deadlines, quality and quantity;

–          Maintain supplier records.

 

 

 

 

Relationship with suppliers and evaluation of supplier performance:

–          Analyze supplier achievements and classify them according to the KRALJIC matrix;

–          Establish an appropriate action plan for each group of suppliers with a view to improving relations;

–          Analyze the risks and propose an action plan to respond to each type of risk;

–          Collect from the departments the information needed to monitor supplier performance;

–          Plan and execute the evaluation of the most important and/or sensitive suppliers.

 

Contract management :

–          Participate in the drafting of contracts by call for tenders according to the applicable procedures and in collaboration with the legal department;

–          Follow the life cycle of purchase contracts and ensure their renewal while respecting the procedure in force;

–          Archive purchase contracts according to the procedure in force.

 

 

 

 

 

Specific activities:

–          Periodically analyze the company’s purchasing expenses and adjust the supplier relationship management strategy;

–          Coordinate the flow of logistical information between the various internal and external interlocutors;

–          Organize the delivery of goods according to the needs of the company;

–          Ensure that the supplies correspond to the needs of the company;

–          Ensure good management of shipping timing and follow up to guarantee delivery times;

–          P lan the transport of orders by reducing costs and delays as much as possible (Acting as a conductor and buyer);

–          Make the technical and technological watch;

–          Ensure the control and optimization of costs and guarantee the company’s margin;

–          Ensure a good balance of stocks, which must be sufficient for the requirements of the company but not too large to avoid mobilizing too many resources;

–          Know the status of stocks on a weekly basis;

–          Design and improve performance indicators and take readjustment measures if necessary;

–          Manage service providers to ensure the continuity of the flow of goods stocks.

 

 

PROFILE

 

–          Academic level: Bac + 4 in Logistics, Commerce, Management;

–          Professional experience: 03 years of experience in a similar position; experience in the agri-food/industry sector is mandatory

–          Maximum age: 50 years old;

–          Being able to work under pressure with hours of varying amplitudes;

–          Additional training and/or qualification.

–          Knowledge of port administrative procedures and maritime transport of goods;

–          Mastery of the regulations of the maritime transport of goods (Incoterms);

–          Mastery of negotiation techniques;

–          Mastery of Supply Chain management tools used daily;

–          Communication skills and ease, listening skills required for regular exchanges with suppliers;

–          Ability to negotiate;

–          Mastery of techniques for calculating costs and evaluating deadlines;

–          Fluency in English is essential.
