ACCOUNTANT CASHIER – AFRICAN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ORGANIZATION (OAPI)

The African Intellectual Property Organization is seeking applications for the recruitment of an accountant-cashier.

Job Title: Accountant-Cashier.

Category: SG5 – 1st level

Level (Grade): Senior Assistant

Date of entry into service: Two weeks after notification of recruitment

Duration of engagement: Permanent employment after a trial period of three (3) months

Administrative Unit: Directorate of Finance and Heritage

Duty Station: Yaoundé, Republic of Cameroon

Closing date for applications: 22 November 2022




ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a national of one of OAPI’s member countries and reside in Cameroon.
  • be at least 18 years old and not more than 55 years old on the closing date for applications;
  • enjoy civil rights and be of good character.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the responsibility of the Director of Finance and Heritage, the incumbent is mainly responsible for:

  • to execute cash payments of invoices and EDI for amounts less than or equal to 100,000 FCFA;
  • to carry out banking operations (cash withdrawal, deposits of transfer orders, cash delivery, history);
  • to pay the invoices of the service providers;
  • cash receipts and disbursements;
  • issue cash;
  • to make declarations of social contributions (CNPS, taxes, etc.).



Qualifications:

  • Hold a Baccalaureate series G2 or a Professional Certificate or Accounting Technician or any other diploma recognized as equivalent by the competent authority;
  • Have at least three (3) years of professional experience as an accountant cashier;
  • Have knowledge of the POS system;
  • Have a good command of professional software (SAGE);
  • Have a good organization in the work, be rigorous and able to work under pressure;
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the French language;
  • Knowledge of the English language would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of intellectual property would be an asset.

COMPOSITION OF THE APPLICATION FILE

  • A cover letter;
  • an extract from a birth certificate or a certified copy of the birth certificate or suppletive judgment in lieu thereof;
  • a detailed curriculum vitae;
  • an extract from the criminal record less than three months old;
  • a certified copy of diplomas, titles, certificates of qualification, work certificates;
  • a regularly established certificate of public or private jobs previously held and indicating their duration;
  • a medical examination certificate, less than three months old, attesting that the candidate meets the conditions of physical and mental fitness.

REMUNERATION

The position is classified in the SG5 category of the salary grid in force at OAPI. Recruitment is done at 1st level. The person concerned will benefit from the benefits and allowances under the conditions provided for by the texts in force.

  • Present the originals of his diplomas, titles and civil status documents;
  • provide a sworn statement of free engagement if he is not a civil servant or an act of secondment if he is a civil servant.
